Single Intent pays tribute to Belgium’s Trappist breweries, which make a lighter-bodied blonde ale that’s set apart for the monks’ personal consumption and not sold—hence the term Patersbier, meaning “father’s beer.” With a spicy, herbal aroma from French Strisselspalt hops, this crisp and complex ale is too good to keep cloistered.

Pours an orange-golden with a quickly vanishing thin head. The aromas are wild & yeasty, like a homemade wine. Slightly spicy blond flavor in a light body with very low bitterness, considering the 35 IBUs and a mere 5% ABV. Like all good beers, the flavors shine as the beer warms and so does the complexity. Good & subdued banana, citrus & clove comes through as well as some spice. Pretty good.

Draft at The Grey. Mostly clear golden color with a thick, frothy head. Lightly fruity and a bit yeasty. Has a fairly soft carbonation. Solid.

Pours a cloudy yellow from the bottle with thin wispy white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of Belgian spice and fruity esters. Taste is more towards a malty kick with subdued esters. Mild carbonation, soft mouth, decent but nothing exciting.

Bottle at home. Pretty quality Belgian. Has all the qualities the style should have- yeasty, spicy, citrus, banana, herbs. Pours a cloudy gold with a generous head. Nice citrus notes from the French hops. Feels pretty authentic. Nothing incredible but proudly Belgian in every way. Somewhat bready/ yeasty by the end. Everything it should be and not much more. Super solid.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- I get some malt, yeast, hops and a hint of citrus. Appearance- This beer is a clear golden yellow with a small white head. Taste- Hops is the big flavor that I detect, it is really good. Palate- A light to medium bodied beer with real lively carbonation. I noticed that a previous reviewer noticed a peppery content. After reading it, I did realize that was what I was sensing. very cool Overall- A really good brew. This is my first beer from this brewer. It won’t be my last.

Decent beer. It doesn't blow me away but I dig the company and that has a more to do with my alcoholic experience than anything else. Drink with people you work with but also enjoy chilling with. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle, purchased 2/23/15 from Habersham in Savannah. Hazy orange color. Ring of white head, some loose short ropes of lace. Toasty malt, kind of spicy, indeed kind of herbal. Good touch of citrus. Hint of banana. Nice belgian character. Lighter body. Smooth, kind of crisp, light carbonation. Mildly slick, more dry. Lighter to moderate bitter taste. Lighter sweet. Good balanced taste. Pretty solid, tasty belgian single. I had high hopes, and this met them.

Poured a cloudy golden yellow color with aromas of bread, yeast, light lemon and some spice. Flavors match the aromas with light bread and some lemon light spice in the aftertaste, decent overall.
