A schwarzbier, or, in other words, a German-style black lager. Oma’s Tribute has a beautiful rich, brown color with deep red undertones that appear when the beer is held up to the light. Even though this beer is dark, it is very crisp, with a light, clean finish (making it very easy to drink .) The black malt used during the brewing process give this beer its dark color, and a slight roasty taste. The hops are present in this beer, but definitely restrained.

On tap at the community oven Hampton. Pours a solid black color without much of a head. Roasted, earthy, and chocolate aroma and flavor. Medium full body with a silky mouthfeel and a moderate level of carbonation. Nice clean flavorful lager although served a bit too cold and also a bit pricey.

This particular style is not usually one of my favorites, but this one was not bad. I had this with fire-roasted pizza and it paired fairly well with the meal

Draft at the brewery. Pours dark brown with a creamy beige head and lots of lacing. Tastes like coffee, nicely roasted and smokey, nutty, light malt. Light body and low carbonation. Smells light sweet, smoked malt.

Tap at brewery. Pours dark brown with creamy beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, milk chocolate, fig, plums, and toasted nuts. Flavor is dry roast malts forward, light earthy notes, lager yeast, mixed nuts and faint hops; dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.

Sample at the source. Pours almost black with a tan head. Aroma of cereal, wet cardboard and dark roasted coffee. Flavor is caramel malt with some smokiness, a touch of pine hop bitterness in the finish. Nice.

Sampled at the brewery. All beers sampled here were above average. Purchased several bottles from the craft beer store down the street for further study. Will update these ratings after trying each one again from the bottle at home.

On tap at Firefly in Manchester NH. Pours black with some lighter edges when held to the light. One finger off white head that immediately retreats to a thin ring. Roasted malt aroma with a whiff of smoke. Roasty flavor as well with a light body and a clean finish. Easy to drink.

Pours black with thin white lacing. Almost no aroma. Flavor is roasted hops and smoky campfire. Body is light and balanced-very sessionable. Love this!

Shared with AirForceHops who happens to be the first person to review this. 750ML swing top filled at the brewery today. Served in a Duvel tulip at room temp.

A - Semi dark brown to black. Amber hues on the edge of the glass. Slight 1 finger off-white head that fades to a thin line of head at about 30 seconds in.

S - Hmm. Nutty. Very much like roasted walnuts, some caramelization. Has that really great German-Lager yeast scent that reallyf ills the nose.

T - yeah. Very roasty. Slight vanilla, cinnamon and once again, this standard delicious german beer taste that I love.

M - 50/50 carbonation on the mouth swish. Light body. Crisp and light finish.

O - Pretty good. Really close to the style it was intended to be. Enjoyable.
