3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Nürnberger Alm, November 2012: Pristine yellow. Stiff, fine-bubbled white head. Clean, airy, mineralic nose with lemon zest, herbs, grass. Delightfully perfumey. Firm and fine effervescence. Quite salty, upfront, with a peppery hop bite vivified by a healthy dose of minerals. Woody and crackery pils malt supplies a sturdy foundation and exemplary cleanness whilst a forceful grassy bitterness dovetails with the equally explosive hop flavor. Hops are leafy, as well, with a seductive lemon balm herbality. As minerals continue to pop on the tongue, copious amounts of floral nectar and succulent lemon juice provide lip-smacking contrast to the elegant zest and peppery bitterness. Hop juiciness gorgeously mirrors that of the bitterness. Ample starchiness from the malt layers the otherwise very lean frame. Finishes bone-dry yet adequately hopped and nectar-laden amid a strikingly clean crackery pils malt punctuation. A very complete pilsner that has just about all I want in the style. It’s dry, stylish, highly mineralic, and the malt is squeaky clean with absolutely zero huskiness. A real quaffer!

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2013 draft at Nürnberger Alm.
clear gold with a thick and creamy white head. straightforward pilsner malt nose is clean, toasty, biscuity and cracker-like with soft touches of sulfer and mineral water. light body with soft carbonation. texture is mostly creamy with light huskiness. egg shell / sulfur, chalk and minerals layered on top of a straight shot of toasty pilsner malt; lightly sweet approach; drying late. a well-made pils that’s quiet and soft.
Draft at Nurnberger Alm in May 2013. Here it is finally yeasty. Apparently the keg in November 2012 was clear but not filtered, we just got a clean early pour. This, now, is yeasty, eggy/sulfuric, soft, creamy, light body,
light sweet, moderate bitterness, pasty, lemony, etc. light astringency and mild huskiness... better than lady year but not a favorite for me.

Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Langweilig. 8/5/7/4/7/6

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(swing top bottle) Hazy, pale golden colour with a blond and huge foamy head. Yeasty and slightly sour doughy pale malty aroma with a tinge of draff, as well as citric and herbal hops. Quite bitter flavour, light bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly yeasty and mildly malty taste with notes of draff and herbal accents; dry and moderately bitter and herbal hoppy finish with citric spots. A roughly hopped Zwickel-Pils. Good. 11.XI.10

Bottle@Home. Hmmm... hard to rate such a beer as it’s not my style at all. However for a Pils it’s actually very well brewed. So I did like it, but compared to beers I prefer it gets a low rating. Technically I would give it a 4.0.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A hazy yellow beer with microfloaties and and white head. The aroma is fruity and a bit citrusy, pale malts as well. Fruity, wheaty flavor, grainy, with some bitterness. Medium body and a fruity and bitter finish. Some lacto in this one? Anyway, far from a favorite of mine, but quite drinkable. 090821
