Thunder Canyon Breweryís GOLD medal winner in the fruit beer (other than raspberry) category at the 1998 Great American Beer Festival. Our blackberry honey ale, made with 600 lbs. of fresh fruit and just the right amount of honey, has a beautiful deep ruby color and blackberry flavor and aroma.

On tap at the Tucson Airport. Berry smell with a strong honey taste. Reminds me of those flavored honey sticks you get in gift shops. A little too sweet for me.

Poured a deep reddish purple color. Very strong honey smell and flavor. A little too overpowering on the honey, not much berry flavor at all. No lingering after taste. Smooth and easy to drink if you can get over the honey flavor.

On tap at TCB - Pours a clear deep red, almost purple color with a small pink head. Has a light berry and honey aroma. Has a sweet berry and honey flavor. Heavy on the palate. Medium body. A decent fruit beer.

This beer is a lightly hazy, deep amber color with ruby highlights when held up to the light. The head is simply a wispy pale tan head that is really just a ring around the edges. The aroma is sweet and fruity with perhaps a hint of honey aromatics to it, and a fruitiness that is definite, but somewhat non-descript.

The taste is quite sweet; it is almost sticky sweet, but not quite. Honey is definitely evident; there is that sort of astringent note, mixed with a floral type thing that I associate with honey. The fruitiness is quite pronounced, though I canít quite put my finger on specifics; it is definitely not raspberry dominated. I am actually finding this a lot more easy drinking and enjoyable than I was expecting. Yes it is a simplistic, sweet fruit beer, but it is quite drinkable and even quaffable.

Loaded with blackberry aroma and flavor. Darker red body with pink head. This was a refreshing sample. So if your in to the fruit beers I would strongly recomend this one. Smelled like you were picking blackbeerys in your garden.

Candy red with a rosy head. Strong syrupy aroma. Likewise, a fruit syrup character carries, more than any real fruit flavors. Unimpressed.
