Thunder Canyon Brewery’s GOLD medal winner in the fruit beer (other than raspberry) category at the 1998 Great American Beer Festival. Our blackberry honey ale, made with 600 lbs. of fresh fruit and just the right amount of honey, has a beautiful deep ruby color and blackberry flavor and aroma.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass at the brewpub. The appearance was a hazy orange color with some red highlights here and there around the glass. Bar pour yielded no head. The smell started off with a sweet red raspberry and then a light tart raspberry came in to balance and then after that a light sugary sweetness came in. The taste was mainly sweet through the raspberries but after a while the sugary flavor came back. On the palate, this one had a tart and sweet raspberry aftertaste that seemed pretty authentic and I would say that this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. The carbonation was decent for the style and for me. Overall, decent raspberry ale I believe I could take to the dome again.

On tap at brewpub. Not a huge fan of this one, it pours a clear red almost purple color. Smell was of a dark berry. and the taste was of berrys with some honey in the back end. It wasnt a bad fruit beer just not my fav

enjoyed the weekend of RBWG 2011on tap pours hazy pinish purple with a thin white head. Aroma is floral with tons of berry. Flavor is much the same with semi-sweet berry and a oat/wheat malt base.

Poured a deep reddish purple color. Very strong honey smell and flavor. A little too overpowering on the honey, not much berry flavor at all. No lingering after taste. Smooth and easy to drink if you can get over the honey flavor.

On tap at the Tucson Airport. Berry smell with a strong honey taste. Reminds me of those flavored honey sticks you get in gift shops. A little too sweet for me.
