COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Cohn Brothers of Bendigo, Victoria are credited with introducing lager in Australia in the early 1880s. Their beers were styled on imported Vienna Lagers from Germany and were often confused with richer ales. Spring Vienna Excelsior celebrates these early Australian lagers and is brewed to an original 1880’s Austrian/German recipe. This double decoction Vienna lager is a connoisseur’s beer – traditional and uniquely rich.

Clear amber colour, poor head good lacing. Slight biscuit malt hop aroma. Spice hop malt flavour, flat palate that dies quickly, uninspiring.

Beer Deluxe (on tap- 23-Oct-12) Floral citrus hop aroma. Clear amber colour, decent head and ringed lacing. Light herbal and light wheaty malt flavour. Bitter grain and stale herbal hop finish that flows thru to the aftertaste.

On tap at Cookie. Well balanced, one of their best beers so far. Aromas of caramel and nuts. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and average length. Palate is oily, and medium bodied. Dark yellow, with no head.
