Pours an almost black with a smaller bubbly tan head. Aroma of toffee, toasted malt, banana and clove. Flavor of toasted malt, roast, tobacco, nuts and banana.

12 ounce can. Pours a darker brown with a decent tan head. Aroma of malt and grain. Taste is roast, wheat, and a touch of fruit. Interesting.

Can. Dark rich pour with a beige head. Little roasty in the nose. Thin palate. Pretty mild flavor - not too bad.

12oz can, a smooth creamy beer with good body from the wheat, taste is bland though with not a lot going on.. Just light malt and no hops

12oz can-trade with heemer77-rich tan head that dissipates-mahogany. A-sweet cocoa/molasses-med malt. T-cocoa/molasses-med malt, biting character front to midpalate. As it fades, some ashy comes in.

[Can] Pours fairly dark with a beige head, which disappears completely fairly quickly. Aroma is charcoal and celery—unpleasant. Bakers chocolate, bbq sauce and sulfur notes after warming. Marginally better. Taste is weird char, muddled apple. Okay mouthfeel, but not impressive. Truly dreadful, and I can only hope this can was from an off batch.

Pours dark, hazy brown with a light head out of the superior package. Great can label. Very cool. Earthy aroma, with hints of coco, some dark fruits, a little wheat. Flavor is very similar, with the bitter chocolate dominating. Light bodied. Finishes with a light fruity character. Interesting.

Aroma - Initial smell reminds me almost of Guinness Draught, with a hefty roasted malt character accentuated by Irish yeast. The roastiness gives way to more of a stale toast note as it warms up a bit. Plunging my nose further into the glass I get some deep fruity notes, almost raisin or plum like. Appearance - Stout-like, with a deep black color. Khaki head is composed of pinhead sized bubbles that stick around for a little while, though I wish they would last a bit longer. The beer looks as though it’s unfiltered, as there are no highlights when it’s held up to the light. That’s somewhat difficult to discern due to the dark color. Taste - Bready, chocolately, and slighlty fruity. Think a dark, toasted bread (rye or pumpernickel) dusted with bittersweet dark chocolate, chased with a Coke, and you’re in the ballpark. Very smooth and drinkable. No discernable off flavors. Wheat comes through somewhat, this drinks almost like a wheat stout. Roast character is less pronounced in the taste as compared to the aroma, but it’s still easy to pick up. Mouthfeel - Low to moderate bitterness, with a smooth character that benefits from not being overcarbonated. Mouthfeel is moderate to full, most likely due to the wheat used in the brewing process. Finishes neight dry nor sweet, instead aiming (and hitting) somewhere exactly in the middle. Overall - Due to a camping trip that went awry, I’ve been somewhat partial to this beer. Now, as the nights get longer and the temperature drops further, I find myself enjoying this more, as it’s a style-straddling beer that doesn’t hold itself to one style or definition. If you’re in the mood for a roasty wheat beer that goes down relatively easy, then this is the beer for you. This beer would go awesome with a classic Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich.
