COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Some breweries use honey in their wheat beer to allow them to use less malt and therefore create a much lighter beer. We think thatís a waste of good ingredients. We start with a standard American Style Wheat Beer (wheat malt flavor, low bitterness) and then add 1.2 gallons of honey per barrel to the kettle at the end of the boil. The result is a full malty flavor accompanied by cinnamon notes from the honey and the complex flavors that come from fermenting that much honey. This is far and away our best selling beer.

Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum, compliments of queenholly, best by February 29, 2015, can poured into a weizen glass. Aroma is light honey, medium/light body, medium/light carbonation, and a little small-bubble lacing. Taste is light honey and wheat. Average wheat beer with a little honey to improve it a little.

Pours a murky gold with a very short-lived white head. Nose is straw, faint honey. Taste is fresh wheat bread, honey, faint lemon. Finishes slightly sweet but mostly dry. Palate is light to medium. Alcohol is well hidden. Refreshing and delicious. Good stuff.

On tap at the brewery. Pale, faint yellow appearance with a diminishing white head. Bland aroma of corn, light bready malts and a touch of bitter hops. Similar flavor with a light thin body and crisp carbonation. Tastes like domestic sludge.

Itís canned beer. Itís good but itís not great. I could see it being much better on a hot day of river adventures.

This is a pretty mediocre wheat ale. Itís not as assertive in flavor as their dark wheat and its slightly sweeter. Tried at a Thunderhead tasting in Dec, 2013.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2014 Kudos to Thunderhead for not sacrificing the alcohol content in this brew. On the other hand, if Iím drinking a wheat ale with a higher ABV, I want a lot more flavor. Sadly, this brew doesnít offer that. Neither the character of the wheat malt nor the honey tastes are very bold. Still an okay wheat beer.

Bottle. Pours clear pale yellow, small white head, dissipates quickly, good lacing. Aroma is wheat, urine. Flavor is wheat, lemon, a bit fruity. Light body. Meh.
