Iíve had some great Amber Ales recently. Maybe thatís why Leatherhead Red was an especially bad letdown. Thereís some toasted malt flavor and moderate hops, but I wanted either more malt sweetness or more dank, crisp hops. The balance just seemed off, and the body was flat. Worst of all was the cloying finish. I may have gotten a bad batch but I probably wonít be trying this again.

On tap at the brewery. Reddish, light amber and clear appearance with white lacing. Mild aroma of toasted grains, light caramel/toffee. The flavor adds a floral/herbal hop bitterness. Lingering unpleasant finish. Not too good.
