50cl bottle, picked up at Rudat in Dortmund, pours with a clear amber body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma is a mix of booze and fruity esters like pears, apples and plums. The taste has the same notes plus a pleasing caramel note that helps things out some. I get red apples, pears and prunes starting out and then thin ribbons of sweets malt, caramel malts and then a spicy cola sensation take this toward the finish. Ok.

A mid to dark orange brown coloured beer with a frothy but weak off white head. A light wheat beer aroma of sweet tropical fruit, banana and pineapple is matched by a cereal aroma. Dry mouthfeel. The taste starts off quite sour, and a touch yeasty, but this soon disappears to allow the mellow, sweet tropical fruit and dry cereal rye flavours to come through, the rye lingers longest into the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared by Joes. Medium dark red-brown color, full sized beige head that disappears almost instantly. Smell sweetness, grains, some herbs or spices and overall a bit weird but not bad. Taste malts, sweetness, raisins. Quite balanced, maybe a bit too fizzy carbonation, but a nice beer.

A total surprise at the post office from a friend of friend and shipped from Japan. My 367th beer from Michael Jackson’s Good Beer Guide one of only a few Roggenbeirs that I have had amazing wish more breweries made these. Banana + spice from the Rye Malt= delicious.
