Tap at Bier Market. Deep brown topped by a creamy off-white head. The nose is softly toasty with notes of cereal and cooked grain. A medium-light bodied palate with a touch of herbal hoppiness. Fairly simple dunkel. Clean and fairly refreshing.

[5184K-20130405] Tap. Mild grainy cereal malt aroma. Dark brown body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Grainy malt flavour has a slight sweet aftertaste. Medium-full body. Tasty, nothing too memorable though. (6/3/6/3/13) 3.1

Pour at Gasthaus on the Danforth is deep mohagany with a creamy one finger cap. Tasty is nuts & toasted malts. A tad watery. Would go well with bratwurst or pretzel but its all you can eat schnitzel nite here so this beer will be history before food arrives.

Bottle. Brownish bronze beer with a strong off white head. The aroma is yeasty, malty and roasted, and the flavour is malty with some bitter roastedness. Overall a nice dunkel with enough roastedness to accompany the sweetness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml Bottle. It pours a thick light tan head over a dark brown body with a ruby hint. Its aroma is quite faint but if you try you can find sweet malts and some fruits. It tastes of roasted malts, sweet caramel with a strong dark chocolate finish. Quite and enjoyable pint this

2013-04-05. Dark brown body with a modest tan head 3+ Sweet malty aroma has notes of molasses and brown sugar. 7++ Flavour is similar, pleasant dark malt, light toasty accents and same sweet molasses and brown sugar. 7++ Smooth average plus palate. 3++ Pretty sweet overall, it is quite malt forward. Not my favorite style but this is actually right up my alley if I am in the mood for this kind of beer. Surprisingly enjoyable. On tap at Twisted Kilt, Toronto

Draught at Hacker-Pschorr restaurant, Regensburg, Germany. Poured a clear toffee brown colour with a red tint. Two- to three-finger light beige head that retained well and laced OK. No carbonation. Aroma very slightly of sweetish malt. Taste of sweet caramel malt followed by a very slight roasted grain, but malt dominates tatse. Light body for a dunkel. Soft sweet finish. Very different to other dunkels tasted. Good cold climate session beer.

Aroma malty with slight fruity hints. On sweeter side. Rather plain.6+
Appearance poured as dark amber with medium white top. Nice rings on glass.3+
Flavor and Palate : medium light bodied. Hint of diacetyl. Soft easy going. Smooth with lighter carbonation. Mineral side. Drinkable but bit thin and lacking some deeper character.

On tap @ Bent Elbow. Puts a light brown lager in the glass with a 2 finger off white cap. Fresh cocoa-toasty-bready aromas. Lighter bodied for a German dunkel but delivers the toasty-cocoa maltiness with a hint of caramel sweetness. Clean drying finish with a bright noble hop bite at the end. I really like this as a session dunkel, one of the better commercial German dunkels.
