Cask at GBBF 2012, London. Pours rich, clear gold with an super thick, off-white cream head. Gloral, grassy hop aroma. Light to medium sweet flavor with lightly toasted pale malts, grass, light urine, pineapple, grapefruit. Light to medium bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Moderately resinous finish, some pine, semi-dry grapefruit. Surprise of the festival. Excellent beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at GBBF 2012. Chestnut brown, big off white foam head. Nose is big sweet citrous, grapefruit peel, lemon peel and fresh lime, caramel, eucalyptus. Taste is citrous, grapefruit, nettle, eucalyptus, but with crystal malt caramel. Head is very creamy. Like an American IPA meets English bitter. Finish has some pine biter. Lovely balance in this beer. For me the cask beer of GBBF.

3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask@GBBF12 Clear chestnut colour with a thin off-white foam that lasts well and laces. Nose is big hoppy character with grassy tones, some aromatic oiliness. Pink grapefruit. Mouth is hoppy and fresh, a little bit of malt, not much, then as it settles on the tongue itís bitter and dry. In terms of aromatic taste versus bitterness, I think the bitterness overpowers slightly. Otherwise an absolutely excellent beer.

Cask at GBBF 2012. Pours a chestnut brown colour with a thin white head, aroma is hoppy and fruity, taste is hoppy and has soft malt with a really good soft finish. This is by far the best Thwaites beer that I have had.

Cask conditioned at The Chequers, Oxford. Copper with white head. Big flavours in this beer, fruity, tropical, pineapple, lots of depth, lots of character. There is a hint of fustiness late on but not enough to ruin a very decent beer. Great stuff.
