330 ml bottle. Pours a clear, dark reddish brown colour with a small, tan head. Sweet aroma of dried fruits, roasted malt and caramel. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dried fruit, caramel and brown sugar with a mildly dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. A tasty brown ale.

Bottle to pint glass. Blackberry, treacle, caramel, and apple aromatics. Pours a clear reddish brown with little effervescence and a 2 cm frothy off white head that quickly reduces to a thin mottled head but leaving nice lacing. Taste is nut, cider, bread, biscuit, and blackberry. Better than I expected.

Aroma is a nice earthy hoppiness paired with roasty malts that finishes smooth. Clear brown bodu with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well

Getreidig malziger, leicht hopfiger Beginn mit Röstnoten. Wenig aromatisch, noch etwas herb, die Aromen verwischen zu einem Brei. Eher langweilig. 11/8/9/8/12/8

Decent malt aroma of caramel and salty crackers, raisins, light warm spice, orange. Zippy carbonation. Citrus taste blended quickly into a deeper malt. Drying bitterness. Brain isn’t figuring the flavours out as everything is mushed together too tightly into a single flavour. Pretty good.

Bottle. Brown, reddish hue. Dark bready caramels, dark fruits, some syrupy notes. Bit of an abbey dubbel- feel. Med light body. some sweetness, but not oily not cloying. Pretty nice really. Herby hops, brown malty. I rather like the balance here. One of the better brown ales I’ve had in awhile. Tasty, but without being too big.

MadRobin (1941) - Silver Spring, USA - AUG 17, 2014
Poured from 330 ml bottle. Opaque, dark brown with a khaki-tan head and very good lacing. Aroma of toffee, currants, nuts, dark fruit, English hops, caramel and tangerine. Taste of red currants, raisins, nuts, chocolate, English hops, caramel and Mandarin orange. Medium body and medium carbonation. Definitely on the sweet side, yet with a significant hop presence for a brown ale. Lots of fruit too. The result is rather tasty, well-balanced hoppy brown ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
