Clear orange in colour. Aroma malty and hops. Hoppy taste with malt and slight bitterness. A hoppy pale ale not quite as hoppy as I thought it would be.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled 18/04/14. A brown beer with a white head and lace. Peachy hops and a bit of raspberry jam in the aroma. Hoppy in the mouth but there’s some sweet toffee from the malts and the NZ hops. It’s pretty good but would prefer less sweetness.

I was dubious about the fruitiness when I picked this up in Sainsbury’s but its stonkingly good! Gorgeous dark amber colour when poured (not much head but thats fine) and a fantastically hoppy flavour. Has an aftertaste of orange, infact its similar to Blue Moon, but has a much cleaner texture. Buy this beer, you won’t regret it!

Bottle from Sainsburys. Bronze appearance with a pleasant hoppy aroma. Some fruitiness which is well balanced with the hops. Refreshing and easy to drink. Didn’t think that Thwaites had it in them.Worth trying.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Dagan.Clear gold with white wave. Citrus, lime, some wet grass aroma, sleek bitter citrusness and a little green in the mouth. Sleek texture, medium-bodied, lightly bitter finish. Good.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nose is a muddle, tropical which fades quickly then biscuit, caramel, slight cherry. Taste, is also odd caramel and butterscotch, leading to slight strawberry from the yeast, lychee and berries. Mouthfeel is very good.
It’s a muddled beer which doesn’t work for me, not awful, just not good.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at home: the last survivor from Sainsbury’s 2013 Beer Hunt. Dark gold with ample carbonation. Hazy. Toasty malt and peaches in the aroma. Taste is bittersweet, full of malt, well-balanced. Satisfyingly long finish. The intensity created by the malt bill and the swaggering Amarillo hops almost give this beer the feel of the DIPAs I have had (at 6%)! Must find this one again.
