Cask @ JDW, Victoria Station. The pour’s brown with a medium white head. The nose is shoe polish, some wood, nutty malts and brown sugar. The taste is dusted nut, some yeast, red fruit and carmel-coated twig. A hint of spice rack. Light body, soft carbonation. Pretty meh.

Ruby, clear, thin white head; tasted thin; sweet toffeeish malt and some cinnamon spice; below average - I thought the time of year for bad, low strength Christmas beers had long gone.

Cask at the Magpie, dark red-brown with a lasting coarse white head, clean brown-malty nose with an unusual spice tang, body is an odd mix of a lightly hoppy brown bitter with winter spices. Neither fish nor fowl, it doesn’t really work for me.

Nice red-brown colour with a thin off white-beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, spices, hint of coffee. Taste was well balanced, light sweet with a light bitter finish. Thin oily texture, light carbonation. Pretty good.

Wetherspoons Victoria 2 Nov 12. JDW festivaløl. Mørk amber. Filmskum hvor en del fester seg til glasset. Beskjeden aroma. Litt frukt. Lite kullsyre. Smaken mandler. Vel søt.

Festival ale poured from cask at JDWs Victoria Station. Clear dark brown coloured body. Shiny surface. Poor lacing. Spiced fruity malts to the nose. Marmalade and caramel malts in flavour. Dry in the mouth. Easy to drink and carries some enjoyment (London, 02.11.2012).
