Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown colour with a nice big creamy light brown rosky head leaving a very nice sticky thick long lasting lacing. Aroma of well toasted malt, caramel, bit of chocolate and coffee. Very good mouthfeel. The flavour has a good well toasted maltiness with a mild bitterness, some nuttiness, chocolate and bit of dark fruits. A very good ESB indeed!

Bottled. Dark ruby with a persistent beige collar and lacework aplenty. Aroma thick with enticing toffee, rich dark fruit and nutty malt. Flavour more of the same, with additional liquorice, chocolate and a dusting of coffee to finish. Tasty, well-conditioned, malt-driven bitter.

Good stuff. Pleasant malty character not overly hoppy but that’s to be expected from the com. des. Good head that leaves a good lace down the glass.

Bottle at home ... Thanks to Fin (i think) for this one ... Wonderfully Ruby colour.... you really cant fault the apperence of this one ...fruity malt nose ... OH ! ... this is beyond anything i expected ... i was expecting ron of the mill ... but this is bursting with full on interesting flavours ... lots of berry fruits ... little sweetness ... little toffee malts ... All round a decent beer, and a real pleasent suprise for a beer that i chose mid night that i expected to be mediocre before finnishing on better beers.

Bottle, bought @ the local flower shop(?). Deep ruby red with a fine medium frothy off white head. Good lacing. Aroma is mild with a little roasted and light berries. Light mouthfeel. Flavour is lightly berry-like, some nuts and rather sweet caramel. It’s an okay beer, but it is a little boring.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a cream head. Aromas are malty, herbal and quite light. Flavours are weetabix and chocolate malts with sweet herbal notes and winter fruit. A bit too sweet for me. Still OK.

Bottle from mixed pack, majestic wine warehouse. Aroma gives fruity sweet biscuity malt, hints of grassy hop. Taste is a similar bag of tricks with a decent amount of bittering hop, however carbonation kind of kills it again.

A run of the mill mild. Good lacing, with fruity aroma and some ginger and treacle. Malty backbone, chocolately almost, some fruit, thin bitter finish.

Bottle, picked up at Majestic, Bicester, 20-05-07 in a mixed pack. Poured mid brown, with white bubbly head. Tasted quite fruity with nice malt base to it and definite nuttiness as described on the commercial blurb, aroma a little hoppy and malty. Not bad at all.
