3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Jonb5 (241) - Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 21, 2013
Half litre bottle, poured into pint glass.
A: Bronze, clear, small head, decent retention and lacing.
S: According to the bottle it was brewed with 4 hops. I detected pine and earth, possibly pointing towards Fuggles and Challenger?
T: Apple, burnt Maris Otter malt, bitterness kicked in at the finish.
M: Medium to slightly thick body, carbonation gave it a slightly coarse edge.
O: Not entirely convinced it was an out and out IPA as other similar tasting beers are classed as Bitters or ESBs. Passable.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 Beer3000 (3727) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAY 13, 2013
500 ml bottle. Dark golden body with a moderate sized white head. Light aroma of caramel with a hint of fruit. Flavor has sweet malt, caramel and some kind of metallic bitterness. Medium body and moderate in aftertaste. This is not an IPA at all, even in accordance with British definition. Drinkable, but not very exciting as a bitter either. Below average.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 jamestulloch (477) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 28, 2013
Aroma: Metal, earth and grain.
Appearance: Clear copper body with a thin off-white head. Lively carbonation. Nice lacing.
Taste: Muted grapefruit and herbal notes, but there’s a metallic taste that ended up getting in the way of any other flavours that were trying to come through. Bitter finish.
Palate: Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Lively carbonation.
Overall: A bit thin and dull, with an off-putting metallic taste.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 johninmelb (1006) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - APR 27, 2013
Zesty citrus notes in the nose that follow well into the flavour. Pours a honey pale gold with a fluffy head. Lingering citrus on the palate and a long dry finish make this an excellent session pale.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ABS (259) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - APR 18, 2013
Light amber. White head. Hop, soap, citrus aroma. Bitter, some sweetness. Lively carbonated. Good, hoppy beer below 4,75%. Will buy again!
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Hanoi (74) - - APR 5, 2013
Nose is some hop sack, sweet malts, slight hint of white peach.
Taste is classic English hops, light bitterness, slight citrus. There is a slight medicine finish which fades quickly.
It’s a very ordinary beer. I can’t recall it as soon as it’s left my pallet.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Palme (2252) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 19, 2013
0.5l bottle. This is a crystal clear golden one with a small quickly sidesticking and light lacing white top. Low aroma, some light burned and floral caramel with traces of soap and something slightly herbal. Mild and non-extreme. The taste is also mild, blend and definitely English styled. More of a bitter if you ask me with soft traces of caramel and un-ripe zest. It has a decent bitterness, but it’s kinda boring-bitter. Dare I say British-bitter? All in all, drinkable with some flavor, but dull and I would definitely not call this to invigorating. 19.01.2013
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 scotty (959) - SCOTLAND - FEB 16, 2013
Bottle from Asda Carlisle, Deep golden in colour, thin, almost non-existent, white head. Nose is dominated by sweet malt with some hints of citrus fruit away in the background. Malt is to the fore again flavourwise, the bitter hops are there in the background again, and are quite harsh, verging on unpleasant! Not the best I’ve tried from Thwaites, and not one I’d buy again!
