3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Amber colour medium head. Hop aroma. Taste is grassy and hoppy medium bitterness. A nice balance, if you like a middle of the road beer. Just taken some more sups of this and it improves, the taste is actually better than my initial thoughts. A good hoppy beer.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2012 Flaske fra ICA: Nydelig gylden farge med stort skum som varer. Tydelig aroma med humler (4 ulike flg etiketten) og karamellmalt. Deilig, velbalansert smak. En super butikk-ipa. Denne skal jeg ha felere av!

500 ml. bottle, 3.8.2012. Clear, dark orange colour with a small, white head. Aroma is spicy, with grassy hops. Taste has a crisp hops bitterness. Light to medium body with a thinner texture, lively carbonated. Finishes with spicy hops with some grasses. I like this beer!

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml dark glass bottle from Morrisons. Quite a full, chewy mouthfeel. A little bit oily as well. This is a sort of full on beer - plenty of malt and plenty of hops, but the whole amounts to simply a crude beer. There’s no finesse or originality, and nothing interesting going on. There’s a crudeness about the whole thing that is rather unforgiving, and the hops are more brutal than aromatic. Not for me.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
An IPA in my grocery store! Now I’ve seen everything! So here we go. It pours a very clear golden colored ale. It’s so clear, I can read through it. Rather small, rocky head. Quite hoppy aroma, with some caramel and fruity hops, and a tiny hint of what might be chocolate. Medium body, pleasantly soft carbonation. Hoppy flavor as well - fruity hops (and by fruity I mean strawberries, a touch of sweet red apples, and a touch of sweet pears), with additional notes of raisins, prunes and a touch of caramel. Some sweetness, and a thankfully subdued, and therefore pleasant, bitterness in the finish. Quite flavorful and easy to drink. If this is an ESB (as I now see that the RB entry says) then it’s probably the first ever ESB I’ve really enjoyed! On some level it certainly seems like a hoppy ESB, even though I assumed this was an IPA.
