3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. A clear one, dark golden in color and with a dense, finger-thick off-white head leaving lacigns. The aroma is quite weak, even for an ESB, with the hops doing most of the work. Some lightly caramel smelling maltyness too. Grass, pinecone notes and some spiced hints. The flavor is a bit sweet, with caramel, resin and spice hints and a little bitterness. Medium body. Well, it certainly has a misleading name, but it’s a decent beer anyway, although too weak on most aspects. 120324

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from ICA Maaseskjæret, Bergen. Pours a clear deep golden body with a medium white head. Nose is mild, with floral notes, faint caramel malts and hints of grass and raspberry. Taste is sugar caramel malts with astringent, dry hop tones and some grassy, earthy notes. Wet leaves and dry grassy bitterness in the aftertaste. While not as voluminous in neither body, aroma or hoppiness as its American counterparts, this is not the worst British "IPA" I’ve had - the drinkability is excellent and there’s definitely some taste to it. Nothing fantastic, though.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. A golden beer with an off-white head and lacing. Sharp fruity hops in the nose with paper a la pasteurisation. A hint of sourness too. It’s the same in the mouth. Quite hoppy with a bitter sting but the obvious pasteurisation lets it down.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle from a local ICA store. Frothy, near-white head that stayed well and left a good amount of lacing to the glass. Clear copper coloured body. Leafy hops and earthy malts in a promising aroma. Resinous hops in flavour in fine harmony with mid-sweet, caramel malts and with a good bitter support towards the ending. Soft in the mouth. Clean, fresh and moreish. Easy to drink and easy to like. A pleasant surprise (Tromsø, 10.03.2012).

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Golden colour with a white head. Fruity and citric nose. Flavour are also fruity and citric, with a subtle caramel background. British IPA are normaly a bit more mild. Like the original style. Not like the american versions. This had a really fine and rich taste. Must go back and see if they have more, because this was really good.
