Refreshing amber ale, brewed with four hop varieties for superb taste and aroma.
When Daniel Thwaites was embarking on his brewing career, the Indus would have been voyaging to the East Indies = trading Lancashire cotton for exotic Eastern delights. Our Indus Pale Ale celebrates ales of that period with a refreshing brew enriched with abundant hops for flavour that stays fresh and crisp to the finish.

Bottle from Asda Carlisle, Deep golden in colour, thin, almost non-existent, white head. Nose is dominated by sweet malt with some hints of citrus fruit away in the background. Malt is to the fore again flavourwise, the bitter hops are there in the background again, and are quite harsh, verging on unpleasant! Not the best Ive tried from Thwaites, and not one Id buy again!

bottle @ home. I think Im a budding "hop-head", so I liked this beer. Pours clear, amber. Nothing exceptional but a good IPA - plenty of hop character.

Clear golden pour with a big foamy white head, medium lasting with nice lacing. Nice English hop bitterness, straw, grain and some grass in the aroma. Quite grassy and dry in the flavour, again with a good dose of bitterness from the hops. No perceptible sweetness. Medium bodied, carbonation is somewhere between soft and slightly lively, settles as you drink it. Rising bitterness in the finish, with tends toward the astringent.

0.5 L bottle, brought home from Meny Oslo City. Crystal clear, golden brown colored body. Coarse two-finger blond head. Mild, inviting aroma. Perfume, tangerines and hint of black currant. Less than medium full. Slick mouthfeel. Soft malt flavor. Light toasted and biscuity, with pepper tones. Ok bitterness, earthy and fruity, and a bit rawer than tha aroma indicate. Short, light watered down ending. Overall, pretty good for a pasteurized bitter.

Bottle 0,5l. Copper clear colour. Medium head. Aroma of hops. Taste of hops, a hint of peach and yeast. Oily texture. Not a very exciting beer, pretty boring. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Amber colour medium head. Hop aroma. Taste is grassy and hoppy medium bitterness. A nice balance, if you like a middle of the road beer. Just taken some more sups of this and it improves, the taste is actually better than my initial thoughts. A good hoppy beer.
