Also known as Co-op Strong Ale / Strong Brown Ale.
Ingredients: Water, Malted Barley, Sugar, Ammonia caramel, Hops, Carbon dioxide.
An easy drinking, full bodied ale brewed by Daniel Thwaite of Blackburn. The bittersweet flavours and hoppy finish make it an ideal combination with game and strong cheeses. Serve lightly chilled.

Bottle, 500ml. A dark brown colour with a small head. A sweet, slightly malty caramel aroma. Taste is fairly sweet with some roasted malt, caramel and a hint of hoppiness in the background. Light carbonation. Quite tasty. I don’t think this is a bitter - more like a mild.

Pours chestnut brown with thick creamy off white head. Aroma is sweet and nutty. Medium mouthfeel with a roasted and nutty taste. Quite dry in the end and despite the low alcohol content, it warms a little bit. A mild citric bitterness.

Bottle (Co-op Strong Ale): Chestnut colour with a tan head, caramel aroma. Taste starts malty, but not too sweet, followed by a burst of hops, and then a malty aftertaste.

Bottled picked up by friend in Co-op, Woodford Halse 09-09-06, as Co-op Strong Ale. Dark brown in colour, good roasty aroma with a roasted malts continuing through into the taste along with some fruitiness, nice body and a jolly decent beer all things considered.

[Bottled] Dark ruby, rich head. Some roasty malt covered in syrup. Sweetish and mellow with notes of hazelnuts. Medium bodied, some decent malt flavours, fairly low bitterness.
