COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered. Cleared by isinglass
Also known as Co-op Strong Ale / Strong Brown Ale.
Ingredients: Water, Malted Barley, Sugar, Ammonia caramel, Hops, Carbon dioxide.
An easy drinking, full bodied ale brewed by Daniel Thwaite of Blackburn. The bittersweet flavours and hoppy finish make it an ideal combination with game and strong cheeses. Serve lightly chilled.

A dark beer with hints of purple, this has a strong malty aroma. Flavours are very sweet toffee with berry fruit. Quite a dry finish that is not long or bitter enough. Still, not bad.

I have never seen more information about a beer's properties on a label. There was info on its ingredients, allergy advice, nutrition, a warning about its bottle pressure, alcohol advice, packaging (glass, steel cap, and paper), and chilling advice! There is even braille on the label. Not a bad beer. Poured a clear brownish amber with a tiny short lived head. A bit of malt and sugar in the aroma. The sugar and malt gave it a nice sweetness that was balanced by light hops. Moderate mouthfeel and light carbonation.
