COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular.
"The Northern Beauty. A very easy drinking beer with an inviting malty aroma, this rich amber beer is brewed using pale ale and crystal malt to achieve this full-bodied flavour. A finely balanced hop character is enriched by the late addition of Styrian Goldings as a dry hop to give a prominent floral hop aroma and warming aftertaste."

Half pint @ Wetherspoons Thanks for sharing Rune! Clear copper body. Smells like sour socks, cheese, poo and moist cellar. Taste of mould, cheddar cheese and dark fruit. Bitter and salty finish. 4.Jul.2012, Manchester

Cask at the Punch Bowl, West Hallam, Derbyshire. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is big malt hop, light citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth malt hop woody bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. A superb pint and very well kept.

Half at Kettering Park hotel. Pours amber with off white head. Light dark fruits, toast, nut aroma. Flavour is toffee, bread with cherry finish. Light carbonation.

Cask. Nutty brown ale with red tinge and a thick off white head. Nose is spicy- fennel, wood bark... Woodiness is in the taste too. And more spiciness and pepper. A slight nutmeg. Not a great drink for me.

Nocturne (888) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAR 20, 2014
Cask. Almost nut brown in shade but with a slight orange tint. White head on top. Tangy and resinous fruitier flavours above some more earthy, slightly burnt, malt flavours below. A little staid and old-fashioned, but good enough.

Cask at the prince of Wales Wimbledon. Brown clear in colour, thin rim. Unbalanced sweet malty leafy flavours with quite a bit of brown banana and wet dog. Quite terrible

Cask at a visit back to Preston. Dark brown pour, big white head. Overwhelming aromas of banana, and not in a nice-weiss-beer way. Some toffee. Bit odd. Tastes sweet. Possibly not well kept, so switched to the Wainwright. My cousin had four of these, and was apparently sick in the car on the way home. might re-rate in future just to be sure.

Cask @ Secklow Hundred, Milton Keynes. Appearance: a shade lighter than chestnut brown. Big, big, big head (lively barrel)! Aroma of soft malt and fruit mixed with a pleasantly balanced astringency. The taste is nice - a malty sweetness with some bitterness at the end. This is a commendable old-fashioned extra bitter. Nothing too original, but a dependable pint.

tombyars (1411) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - NOV 12, 2013
Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) in November 2013. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale copper in colour with a thin white head. Very short aroma with a faint whiff of rotting vegetation and yeasty dough. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a digestive biscuit base with a vague hint of raisin fruit but little else. Earthy hops impart a weak bitter flavour which fades fast through the aftertaste. Finish has a dilute malty note with a slight metallic tang present in the mouth. This is a poor session bitter, lacking in depth of body and complexity.

Pint at The Lord of the Isles at Braehead. A dark brown with a hint of amber. Not too much head.
