COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Available filtered and pasteurised in 500ml bottles.
Originally brewed by Thwaites, the brand was contract brewed at Marston’s Wolverhampton plant (Banks’s) from 2013, then bought completly by Marston in March 2015. The brand continues to be sold under the Thwaites name and logo.
"This rich amber beer is brewed with only the finest English ingredients. A prominent hop aroma and bitterness throughout is finely balanced with a full malt flavour, leading to a dry bitter finish."

Half litre bottle, poured into pint glass. Bronze auburn colour, clear, one finger off white head. Retained a fair amount of lacing. Aroma had hints of Fuggles and Goldings hop with some apple, also had to think of a north German style Pilsner. Tasted pine and citrus fruits (mainly grapefruit) sharp finish, moderate bitterness. Smooth texture, decent carbonation, slightly watery body. Overall it lacked the character of some ESBs and was slightly too strong to session as Andrew Flintoff found out after 17 pints at the 2007 cricket world cup in Barbados.

Brown/amber body with a thin creamy head, nice lacing is evident immediately. Real sweet toffee and caramel are the forefront of the taste. Not really getting any hop aroma on this.Lower carbonation fitting with the style, but a little sweet to be as sessionable as the style is intended to be.

Pours a clear dark copper colour. Has wispy head with good lace. If you’ve ever had fullers ESB then you’ll think this beer is 75% of it.

Great example of a British bitter. Really nice and enjoyable beer with good balance of malt and hops.

beeebon (254) - Cornwall, ENGLAND - NOV 9, 2014
Pours a copper amber colour with a slightly tan coloured creamyish head which lingers. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, biscuit, slightly spicey and vaguely stewed fruit. Taste is medium sweet initially before balancing out with a light to medium bitterness which then works out quite dry on the finish. Noticable carbonation which mellows and not too watery in the mouth. Overall a pretty nice bitter!

Pours sparkling amber with slight head. Sweet malty nose and low hop aroma. Sweet malt flavour with medium bitterness following through. Low carbonation and medium mouthfeel. Pleasant drinking.
