COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Higher abv version of Nutty Black.
Normally brewed solely for the home market, Daniel Thwaites has broken all the rules with an export strength version of its award winning ale. The same great well rounded flavours and nuttiness lie within but bottles will now leave Lancashire destined for the Far East (Leeds) and even remote areas of the southern hemisphere (such as Watford).

500ml bottle, bottle-conditioned, from Morrisons. Deep chocolate brown in colour with an amber tint against the light, and a trace of off-white head; chocolate malt aroma; milky texture with smooth chocolate malts, and hints of toast and treacle; oily, satisfying finish with a gentle bitterness. An excellent mild.

A dark mahoganny brown ale with a thin dark moka head. In aroma, very nice caramel overlayed with moka coffee and light creamy vanilla. In mouth, a soft sweet nutty malt with light coffee notes, a bit lighter than expected but very quaffable. Bottle from MLCC on Pembina Highway.

Bottle. Pours very dark brown with a foamy beige head. Nutty, chocolate aroma. Mildy sweet chocolate flavor, with some light nuttiness. The flavor is better than the description. It’s quite pleasant.

This is a decent thick and medium bodied beer with a thin but resistant head. Aroma as the name suggests is somewhat soft and nutty. Taste is soft-coffee with a nutty back taste. Overall a decent beer.

Bottle conditioned from Waitrose, now labeled as Nutty Black, still at 3.9% and different from the other Nutty black at 3.2% just to make it simple! Almost black beer with small beige head and a little lacing. Slight dark fruit aroma. Taste is a little nutty, roast malts and a little dark fruit chocolate. Medium bodied and slightly carbonated. Decent enough beer.

(Bottle): Pours lovely, very black with small tinge of red. Almost no head. Aroma is nutty, hints of coffee and liquorice. Taste is similar - malty, nutty taste but unfortunately is very watery and doesnt leave much on the palate.

This was very dark, with a big bubbled beige head. The palate is lovely soft and very malty, not that nutty to be honest, there is a hint of coffee on the finish. A great quaffable brew, could drink loads of this.
