Light golden colour with a head that lasts quite well through the drink. Floral nose and a dry, earthy taste with citrus hints. Good beer, more of a golden ale than a classic bitter.

Malty, almost mineral nose, nice full malt flavor with herbaceous hops finish. Body was a bit thin, but overall a very pleasing rendition of the bitter class. Delicious!

500ml bottle from Morrisons. I had this on cask a couple of years ago and didnít think much of it. And now Iím having the pasteurised version, and I think itís quite tasty. Thereís a gentle toffee sweetness to the malt that is quite beguiling, and thereís no trace of the boiled sweets flavour that sometimes emerges from bottled pasteurised British ales. The hops are delicate, lively, citric and quite pleasant - merging well with the crisp carbonation. This is a nice balancing act between an ale and a lager, as the best Golden Ales manage to do. At 4.1% itís easy drinking, yet has a firm body. Damn good, Iím impressed at this.

Bottle from the offie up the road. Light amber pour with a white head. Light citrus aromas with a little hop. Quite dull. Caramel, vanilla and toffee flavours. Quite sweet. Sweet finish, quite cloying with a hint of bitterness. According to the label Roger Protz liked this beer very much, clearly one of his off days.

The bottle version provided by Finn. Bubbly, white head slowly fading over a clear, copper coloured body. Fragile lacework on the glassware. Smooth aroma of juicy malts. Taste of mid-sweet caramel malts added by a hoppy twist. Rounded bitter ending. Satisfying (TromsÝ, 22.09.2010).
