harrisoni (5130), Ashford, Kent, England Mar 26, 2008 Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Copper, slight haze, decent lasting beige head. Bit of spicy fruity aroma, bit of spicy dry malt in mouth. Quite soft in mouth. Not huge hop on finish, but quite drinkable. Easy drinking slightly spicy bitter. Some hop aroma. Golden coloured hoppy slightly fruity and floral with a little dryness in a crisp malt finish.
2. Cask Handpump at the Thwaites Brewery Tap, Blackburn 11/07/2007
Some hop aroma. Small white head. Golden coloured hoppy and a little fruity. Smooth on the palate. Crisp and slightly dry malt finish. imdownthepub (4043), Banbury, Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England Mar 28, 2008 Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Gold with white lacing head. Sweetish malty bitter, quite light but with a great load of hops thrown in for good measure. Quite unlike many Thwaites beers previously tasted, this is fresh and fruity with orange notes, quite like opal fruits or whatever they are called now. A knockout session bitter in my book. maeib (3958), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Mar 30, 2008 Cask conditioned - handpump - JDW Northampton. A golden bitter with an off-white head and lacing. The aroma has some wierd banana and peach thing going on. The taste is too sweet alsowith some light fruit. Smooth on the palate but just too strange and disconcerting. leaparsons (3903), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Apr 27, 2008 Cask, The Highcross, Leicester. Golden with an off-white head. Aromas are citrus with cream and vanilla. Some biscuit malts along with spices. Flavours are buttery malts with dry citrus. Some biscuit with a dry hoppy finish.
