Commercial Description:
Cask: Occasional
Brewed as one of the celebratory beers for Thwaites bi-centenary. Named after Alfred Wainwright, the renowned Lakeland author who was born in Blackburn in 1907.
A refreshing straw-coloured beer with soft fruit flavours and a hint of sweetness from the fine malt.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Copper, slight haze, decent lasting beige head. Bit of spicy fruity aroma, bit of spicy dry malt in mouth. Quite soft in mouth. Not huge hop on finish, but quite drinkable. Easy drinking slightly spicy bitter.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Gold with white lacing head. Sweetish malty bitter, quite light but with a great load of hops thrown in for good measure. Quite unlike many Thwaites beers previously tasted, this is fresh and fruity with orange notes, quite like opal fruits or whatever they are called now. A knockout session bitter in my book.

Cask conditioned - handpump - JDW Northampton. A golden bitter with an off-white head and lacing. The aroma has some wierd banana and peach thing going on. The taste is too sweet alsowith some light fruit. Smooth on the palate but just too strange and disconcerting.
