Pub (4102), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Mar 28, 2008 Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Gold with white lacing head. Sweetish malty bitter, quite light but with a great load of hops thrown in for good measure. Quite unlike many Thwaites beers previously tasted, this is fresh and fruity with orange notes, quite like opal fruits or whatever they are called now. A knockout session bitter in my book. hughie (2252), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Mar 29, 2008 Cask, gravity dispense, at Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford, at ’Spoons Real Ale Festival. Copper amber. Served from a cask at the front door of the pub and uncooled, thus a little warm. This is an unusual comment to make about a JDW beer. They assured me it was its first day on. Slightly sweet floral aroma. Fruity taste: there’s apple, kiwi and a little peach perhaps. Bitter finish. Excellent. cgarvieuk (2525), Edinburgh, Scotland Mar 27, 2008 Cask at JWD ... Golden yellow ... sweet grassy hop ... bright light fruity hop .. little sweetness. TheGrandMaster (1486), Auckland, New Zealand Apr 21, 2007 Pint at The Cock Inn in Surrey, pulls a milky white, settling to a slightly hazy gold with a white foamy head. A strong fruit aroma - which on closer expection is that of pears (credit to Jabba). A strong bitterness on the palate with fruity hop flavours. Very refreshing. johndoughty (1660), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England May 3, 2008 Bottle. Clear golden appearance. Slightly thin and quite sweet. Some pleasant fruitiness develops. Nice.
