jthg (28), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 10, 2008 The aroma on this dark amber ale is of scotch. ALMOST overpowering. The taste is light. Not much body. From the aroma, I would expect more complex maltiness from this beer. Slightly below average. beerman007 (8), Mountian View, California, USA does not count Jul 16, 2008 This is a great mellow brown ale and the balance is perfect, not too overpowering/unbalanced like some other brown ales (Newcastle). This would be a great session beer! scooterling (21), Mountain View, California, USA Nov 23, 2007 Updated: Jun 8, 2008Probably the best from Tied House. Not too hoppy which is strange for a West Coast beer. Nice malty goodness. Beautiful color. Velveety mouth feel. Tied House simply has the best beer prices for a brew pub in the Bay Area. $6 growlers! kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 08/17/1998

yesyouam (369), Fairport, New York, USA May 24, 2007 (Sampler at the San Jose location) Ironwood Dark is a mohaghany ale with a small, creamy white head. The aroma is mellow and piney. The palate is pretty smooth and medium light; perhaps a bit chalky. The flavor is fresh and crisp... perhaps a bit disjointed?
