Delirium (433), Santa Cruz, California, USA Aug 26, 2008 Draught. Light golden with a small white head. Aroma and flavor are both sweet malt and apple juice, slightly boozy. Not great, but at least lacks much in the way of off flavors and is quite drinkable. rmussman (693), California, USA Jun 10, 2008 Sampled in Mountain View. Pretty good. Very refreshing drink. Has a light head and light hue. Overall pretty decent. Taverner (481), San Ramon, California, USA Apr 16, 2008 Has a very malty aroma, and you can get notes of molasses and caramel. Very sweet Maibock too - not hoppy at all. In fact I couldn’t detect a single hop note in this beer. Goes down easily though - very smooth, sweet beer. Finishes on banana notes. yesyouam (369), Fairport, New York, USA May 24, 2007 This Maibock is a very sparkling amber with a small white head. It has a salty aroma-- a faint whiff of soy sauce. The palate is watery and gritty. The flavor is like a vegetable garden with black pepper. Is this on purpose? Not sure what the deal is here. The beer sitting next to it was really good and I wrote a shining review for it. The server could only identify it as "the dark wheat" but everyone else at the place denies there is such a thing there. It was also very obviously not a wheat beer... or dark. Bummer, really. Davecooks (1150), Bay Area, California, USA May 25, 2006 Draft. Pours a dark, clear copper color. Very fruity and sweet aroma. Fruity flavor with pineapple , brown sugar, and cotton candy flavors. Sweet finish. I couldn’t drink this beer, it was too sweet. I had to send it back for another beer.
