COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nestled at tbe base of the Cascade mountain range is one of the most fertile and productive growing regions in the world -- the Yakima Valley. This valley grows fifty percent of the apples in the United States and seventy percent of the hops. Tieton Cider Works Yakima Valley Dry-Hopped Cider is a tribute to the part of the world that we call home. Our fresh pressed juice comes from apples grown in the Pacific Northwest. We created a unique method of dry-hopping that juice with our custom blend of three hops. Pair this cider with chilis and salsa, sweet or spicy flavors inspired from all parts of the globe, or simply a ripe Brie.

Cloudy pale color. The cider aroma is simple but ok. Mildly acidic flavor, a bit fruity. The hopping is missing.

Bottle. Clear, light amber pour, cider aroma with a distinct hop presence. Flavor leans dry, slightly tart, with a background of light hop bitterness. It works pretty well, but I’d opt for a couple other hopped ciders over this one.

Location: 500 ml bottle from Central Market, 1/29/14

Aroma: The nose is light with a little apple juice and some soft yeast notes
Appearance: It pours a clear gold color without much head or lace
Flavor: The flavor is on the light side too, slightly tart apple, minimal sweetness
Palate: The body is light, with a soft carbonation, and a short duration
Overall Impression: For some reason I was in a cider mood today, but this didn’t totally hit the spot. It isn’t bad, but it’s a little thin in flavor and feel.

Clear light yellow with a head that lasts til the finish. Light fruity aroma and tart flavor. Dry finish. Sort of like a saison beer with a thinner body and a little more sweetness. Pretty easy on the buds.

Fizzless amber pour. Floral nose, dominated by cidre and not hops. It is nicely dry, tartness in the middle, not bad.

Bottle. Clear pale yellowish green, almost colorless. No visible head. Juicy apple character is simple and basic but complimented well by the mineral water / calcium / malic acid character. I do not get much of any hop character from this beer, in aroma, flavor or bitterness, only a small grassiness that may or may not be from the dry hops. There is some very mild astringency and bitterness present that may be from hops or may just be from the malic acid. Off-dry, lightly bitter, medium acid. Drinkable but forgettable due to it’s simplicity.

What I loved about this cider, most of all, was how far it went to matching the flavor profile of the best English ciders I’ve had. That may seem curious in light of the hopping, but at any rate, there’s a crisp and slightly tart flavor with tempered apple notes. Pairs extremely well with food, including dessert. On tap at Publican, Chicago.

On tap at Capitol Beer and taproom. Pours clear straw with little head. Aroma of citrus and apple aroma. Mild carbonated with noticeable hop profile for a cider. Decent and interesting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
