2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottled. A golden coloured lager with a pleasant white head. The aroma and taste are lagerish with grass but also a little hop. Clean and drinkable, beats a lot of lagers comfortably.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. An employee of mine brought this back for me from Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. Very malty, creamy lager aroma with some corn notes. Crystal clear gold with a cascade of champagne like caronation rushing up to form a smooth, lasting, tight bubble, white head. Nice artistic lace. I must also note that the label and cap are very attractive. I love the blue, orange and gold color combination and the tiger logo on the cap and label are sharp. Brewed to please the masses, and please them Iím sure it does. As pale lagers go, pretty darn good. And I now see that it enjoys a welll above average percentile in its style. I think this beer is underrated, as are the majority of beers on this site that arenít big and flavorful. I could see myself at a 5 star hotel in Ipoh, enjoying a Tiger at the bar with some bar snacks.

A Mes rate:
Well its pretty rank. I have yet to try an Asian lager that I like but I am assured they exist. I only drank it as it was free and there was nothing else but alcopops.

I had to have a jug of Tiger when in Singapore. The beer is OK, but nothing work taking home. Orange in color, little hops flavor.

1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Can (500ml). Poured clear, pale, oily yellow-gold with a big, fizzy, rocky, ephemeral head. Aroma strongly metallic and chemical, with harsh burnt flour notes and plenty of sugary sweetness. Taste is sweet and chemical and fairly harsh, but a strange apple/carrot juice flavour makes is almost horrfyingly interesting. Mouthfeel is thin and metallic. Apart from that strange sweet juice note in the flavour, just another S.I.L.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of white colored frothy medium to large sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a transparent straw yellow colored softly carbonated body and a good lacing. The aroma was mellow with smooth malty notes and the mouth feel was smooth clean crisp with a mild tingle in the finish. Its malt hop flavor was good and I especially liked the clean crisp notes in this brew.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Clear light yellow color, short white head. Aroma of corn, some faint hops. I could actually almost copy the description from the Kingfisher Lager. Watery taste.

After spending a summer in Asia, Tiger beer was a favorite of mine in the area. I think that this was largely due to the lack of options at local watering holes. That being said, the Tiger really is an average beer with minimal taste. It pours a pale yellow with limited aroma. The taste is tingles the palate on the way down followed by a light alcohol aftertaste. A nice beer in 35+deg weather and when choices are few...
