Pale straw with an initially large white head that vanishes. Aroma is some sweet malt and grain. Flavor is light sweet malt. Short crisp finish. Fairly typical asian lager.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2006 Ahhh another pale lager another country rating. This beer is from Singapore, but it’s called Tiger. That’s funny. Why you ask?
Well: The name Singapore is derived from the word “Singapura” or “Lion City” as legend has it that a Sumatran prince sighted a beast that looked like a lion when he first set foot on the island in the 14th century. In the year 1819, Sir Stamford Raffles established a British (Britain also is symbolized by the Lion) trading station on this island. Singapore gained its independence as a sovereign and democratic nation on 9 August 1965. It was admitted to both the United Nations and the Commonwealth of Nations in the same year.
This beer smells like a corn syrup truck overturned in a fetid swamp that hung heavy with decaying vegetation and the offal of small swamp creatures. There are many mangrove swamps on singapores coast. The water for Tiger beers comes from there...I assume.
The body is a pale gold with a somewhat lasting white head that is mostly bubbly. In Singapore people can be legally caned. Caning the buttocks draws much blood. It is unkwon if the person who developed this recipe has ever been caned....
The fore flavor is sweet corn/karo syrup with faint cereal grains and little to no hop presence. It has no finish as it finishes the same way it starts...grainy and sweet.
In singapore you can be put to death for possessing over 500 mg of pot, but this beer appears to be perfectly legal.

BigBeer45 (1308) - Michigan, USA - OCT 27, 2006
Large bottle, white head that disappeared quickly, slight malt aroma, reminded me of the typical macro brewed lagers in the states, had a slight skunky aroma (it had to travel a long ways to get to Michigan), tasted like a light lager, little malt with a touch of bitterness and some sour on the tongue, this stuff is sold everywhere because of the World Series in town, I wouldn’t bother trying this again unless I could have fresh on location but might may not try it then either.

A skunky lager with a touch of some citrusy malt which seemed to go well with Chinese food but unfortunately never seemed to go away afterwards.

This is an average lager. I would definitely drink one on a sweltering day in SE Asia But there is no way I’d drink one anywhere else. Tastes very much like a Heine. A bit of skunk and sweet and malty, enough bite for balance.

Pale yellow color, little white head. Mildly hoppy aroma with notes of grass. Drinkable but it will probably bore you to death before you finish.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2007 Bottle in Vietnam. Only decent flavoursome beer widely available in Vietnam, and probably seems a lot better when its compared to the locals. A sweet lasting taste, pretty full bodied. Nutty and malty and even some banana in there for some reason. A very acceptable lager.
