330ml can on a flight from London to Boston. Pours a pale golden, nice holding white head with good lacing. Aroma is metallic, lightly grainy and rice, grass and light floral. Taste is light grassy sweetness, light bitterness. Quite watery. Lightly perfumed aftertaste, even lively carbonation, quite light. Poor enough brew, but for a macro lager, it does have some redeemable and interesting qualities. Would drink it if it was offered to me on a plane again.

From a can into a glass in Thailand. This can brewed by Thai Asia Pacific Brewery. Aroma has a light graininess and medium light adjunct character. Light sulfur note and a moderate skunkiness, which is surprising as its from a can. Light grassy hop notes. Faint floral notes. Pours a very clear, pale yellow gold with a fairly large, pillowy white head of moderate thickness that recedes pretty quickly. Light lacing and no legs. Flavor has a faint sweetness with a light grain note and medium light adjunct character. Light sulfur note along with some light grassy hop character. Faint floral esters and medium light bitterness. A touch of an odd twang in the finish. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall one of the poorer lagers in Thailand. The hop character isn't great and the odd twang doesn't help the beer. Light sulfur and some skunk notes in the aroma. At least there was no diacetyl. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

GoufCustom (605) - HONG KONG - JAN 27, 2014

330 ml bottle bought at Market Place by Jason’s in Langham Place, Mong Kok.

Clear golden yellow colour; One finger head and soapy white foam which fades in 30 seconds; Small lacing with slight carbonation; Quite pungent smell of malt, with rice, apple juice, apple cider, sugar, hint of wet cardboard, unknown chemical, very light lemon and faint grass; Sweet taste of malt, with light metallic, sugar syrup, wet cardboard, soggy bread, light grains, light lemon and bitter grass; Mid to light body. Thick and quite oily palate; Mouth feel is wort-like, thick and oily, syrupy sweet and cloying to throat. Maltyness is there but is drowned by metallic and sweetness. Yuck… Hoppiness is light lemony nose, more citrus and grass taste. Raw and unsavory bitterness did nothing to quell the worty sweetness, which led to an awful sweet and bitter finish; Wet after taste. Cloying to mouth.

Comments: Been too lazy for this easy country tick as it’s available everywhere just like many Asian macros, and now I regret ticking this: worty and raw, cloying sweetness, some weird chemical smell, metallic and paper to accompany bad bitterness. Drain pours and never again!

Bottle 33 cl.
Pours pale, sparkling, with a small diminishing white head. Weak aroma. Just a bit of malt, and a hint of hops. Taste to match it.

Tiger Lager is a pale golden clear beer with an active thin head of small white bubbles. Nose is faint watery scent of grain. Taste is sweet and more than a little metallic. body is thin and watery. Finish is metal and cloyingly sweet. Not a very good beer.

Pours a clear yellow color with a medium sized head that dissipates very quick and leaves a small amount of lacing around the glass. The aroma is extremely sweet malts and some slight breadiness. The taste is very sweet just like the aroma. There is a minimal bitterness from the hops to balance the beer out. This beer will not blow you away by any means but it is still worth a try.
