Cask Handpump at the Harlequin, Sheffield 18/04/2009 Some hop aroma. Golden coloured and strong in alcohol with a stilton cheese flavour. Bitter and a little dry in the finish.

Cask (handpump) @ Harlequin, 108 Nursery Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England S3 8GG.
Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, fruity, toasted, malt sweet, moderate hoppy, alcohol. Flavor is light heavy candy sweet and moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090416]

Cask at Reading beerfest. A golden coloured ale with a slight head. Strange musty smelling beer. Plenty of hops but also a bittersweet taste. A really unique tasting beer, it was quite good but I won’t seek it out again. This one seems like an experiment that has not really worked.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 09. Very hazy gold, thin disappeaaring head. When first poured it smelled of urine, which settles down to blue cheese. Now the blue cheese does run through it to its detriment. Inhibits the hop aroma coming through. Yes it’s hoppy, but more acidic on tongue hoppy than flavoursome/bitter hoppy. Copared t the Jaipur I had beofre it, not in the same league. Interesting though.
