COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boxcar is a Robust Porter with hints of roast coffee and mild chocolate. Featuring a traditional English grist bill of Maris Otter pale malt, black patent, two different chocolate malt’s and East Kent Golding hops, this beer will keep you warm by the fire pint after pint. The beer is named for the many freight trains that pass by the front of the brewery day and night! Cheers!

Pour on tap, dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark brown pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark chocolate, roast, some slight smokey notes into a bit of coffee. Taste was a mix of roast, cocoa, dark chocolate into some slight dark fruit, hints of smoke, finishing slightly sweet.

From a growler. Nice brown pour, tan head. Hints of coffee, bitter chocolate, roasted malts. Nice flavor, just a hint of nuttiness here. Nice body, not overly chewy. This is available locally in 22 oz. bombers. Solid porter.

Poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of bakers cocoa, roasted malt and light earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roasted malt, bakers cocoa and light earthiness with a smooth dry lingering bakers cocoa finish.

On tap at the source. Had numerous times so surprised never rated. Cola pour with a light head leaving almost no lace. Aroma has bakers chocolate and some caramel. Taste follows. Nice bitter-sweet blend, with solid depth. 14.8

Like the porter from local tighthead brewery. Really easy to drink and not super smokey. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Had after my half miler ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Jerry’s. Black with frothy, creamy, brown head, decent lacing / Herbaceous nose of roast coffee and chocolate / Medium to full body, acidic and toasty, lots of bitterness but overall very smooth / Flavors of grass, lemon, bittersweet chocolate, dark roast coffee / Quite nice, and easy drinking.

Massive choclate scent. Huge chocolate taste. Creamy and rich. ABV lower than it tastes. Had on draft at the Standard. Nutty and milky and slight malts. Very good. Liked this a lot

Draft, B-field. XMas Eve dinner at the bar. Beautiful black pour; aroma of chocolate and coffee. First sip is all coffee though, the dark roasting of the malts was just too heavy for my palate, and the beer ended up being very espresso-like. Good flavor if this were advertised as a coffee porter; pairing with any foods (other than a chocolate dessert) would be tough.

Shaker at Lockdown. The beer looks like a float with its head popping out the glass. Brown head with a super brown almost black body. Has a sticky-icky lacing. Aroma is bitter black malt, roast, earth, and light coffee. Its very well attenuated. Flavor is the same with a very well fermented beer with few leftover sugars and most of the flavors come off the bitter, earthy malts. Finish is very light with essence of earth and a bark-light bitterness. An awesome bitter brown ale, no chocolate from my POV.

On tap at Tight Head Brewpub. Dark brown with ruby lowlights and a brown crown. Aroma of chocolate, oats, coffee, dark malts and mild peated notes. Taste is dark with chocolate, coffee, roasted malts and an acidic finish.
