2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
From tap. Pours copper with small whit e head. For those who have tried Three Floyd's Gumballhead; this is very similar with a hit more malt and a lot more bitter finish. For those who have not; it tastes like an IPA with a little extra citrus and thickness from the wheat.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap, poured into a sampler glass. The aroma is a light, damp, citrus peel, grapefruit, grass, and resin. It pours a clear yellow, fuzzy micro bubble, white head with a medium web lace. A medium thin ring with a light surface dusting remain. The taste is a medium bitter with a light sweetness. The waxy texture has a decent amount of small-bubble active, fizzy carbonation. The medium body finishes with a herb and wax, dry bitter resin finish. There’s a touch of a tropical note at the finish, but it’s light - more like bitter grapefruit membrane. The dry herb and waxy bitter remain in a moderate aftertaste.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from the tap at First Draft in Chicago. Heavy golden with some strong lacing. Aroma and taste fall in line with a hop theme. Resin, hop, floral notes. Leaves the mouth pretty dry and the hop presence definitely lingers. It’s not in the upper echelon of pale ales but does meet the criteria of a session IPA. You can do worse than this one.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint pour at Bad Dog. Pale with a thin white head. Aroma is very heavy on pine, citrus, and floral- smells. Taste is pretty floral, light citrus, mild background hoppiness. The aroma supplants the flavor, but the aroma is fantastic.

Draft. Massive tropical aroma, favor is dry and citrusy, just enough of everything. Amazing ’session ipa".

Large sample pour at Beer under Glass in Chicago. Initial nose is a fruity hoppy aroma...definitely mango in there. Taste is a crisp, hoppy, bitter but mild mouthful...very good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
[Tap] Pours a deep golden color with a thin head. Tropical fruit and sticky caramel nose. Nice and balanced hop profile includes lemon, pinecone and floral notes. Noticeably different taste compared to the average pale ale. Lighter wheat/caramel malt backbone. Good stuff overall! Tasting notes from 1/2014.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pint at Lockdown in Chicago. 3.50 on special. Dark, hazy amber. Clean clear hop aroma but the hops are all over no one dominant hop flavor. Same in flavors. Clean and hop centric but the mix of hops doesn’t work for my tastes.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at The Tap House Grill in Westmont, IL., and dispensed to a large tulip showing a hazed, orangey gold color, with a frothy layer of off white foam, and spiraling rings that morphed into clingy, web-like lacing. The nose was an expressive presentation of grapefruit & orange, with a little pine on the back. The taste was plentiful malt that supported but calmed the substantial, citrusy, earthy, and orange rind hop bitterness just enough. Medium bodied, well carbonated, and quaffable, with a nice creaminess to the mouthfeel. An excellent APA.
