COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Dark beer is unique amongst all others. Its smooth body, light caramel flavor and mahogany color are a result of the special combination of several malts. Because of its sweet aftertaste it is believed to be a delicacy among beers. 4.5% Alc. Vol. Facts: It is a 100% Pure Beer! Brewed only with Barley Malt, Hops, Yeast and Water under the Strictest Guidelines of the International Purity law of 1516. It is a distinguished, elite, gourmet beer for the most demanding palates. It is the only Hand Crafted, Limited Production, Lager beer in Mexico!

Bottle. Pours with spare white head on a dark mahogany body. Aroma is of caramel malt, dark roast, toast. Flavor comes in lightly sweet and stock full of tons of toasty, roasty, malty goodness. Almost so damn burnt and toasty it’s overwhelming. Laced with little bits of coffee, vanilla, and dark chocolate. The finish is fairly dry while being crisp and clean both. Light in body and feels a touch flat. Nothing is in this beer that I don’t like, very good overall.

Bottle. Dark red/brown hue with a small head. The nose smells delicious: malt, roasty, nutty, chocolate, and sweetness. Very smooth and round on the palate. Roasted flavors abound, and a tiny hop bitterness that didn’t show up in the nose peeks its way into the mix. Unlike their guera I had earlier this week, the bottled morena holds up to the quality and freshness I tasted at the brewery on tap. Very enjoyable, and highly recommended.

Pours a dark ruby with a creamy, light beige head. Strong roasted malt notes in the odor. The taste starts off of light caramel and ends with a slight burnt toast aftertaste. An interesting beer, definitely better than I expected.

From draft, in a sampler mug. Poured a coke color with a creamy light tan head. Aromas of caramel malts, barley and some very light coffe and chocolate flavors. The palate is plesant with good carbonation, but although the flavor is good, it is barelty noticeable. Although i like darker beers i prefered its lighter sister (Guera).

Weak aroma with notes of yeast and caramel, light bodied and refreshing, high carbonatation, the flavor has notes of caramel and roasted malts, slightly bitter dry finish. slightly above macro

Picked this up not having seen "craft" beer from Mexico before. It’s a traditional Mexican Vienna. (which should probably be its own distinct style) Nose is malty, flavor profile is sweet and malty, with caramel and even some very subtle dark fruit hints. A bit one-dimensional, but very drinkable. Welcome to craft brewing, Mexico!

UPDATED: APR 5, 2008 Good aroma of caramel, the head is medium, cream light color. The liquid color its good, darkness like a viena dark style, the flavor its easy to drink, i expected moore taste in my tonge, but in general its a good one, tnx to the Consorcio Cervecero for rescue the way to make a good beers over this countries where the flatness beer are in all places...

Bottle. This is not only the worst Mexican beer I’ve ever had, but the worst ale. I thought it was going to be crisp like Negra Modelo and Dos Equis Amber, but I guess I was wrong. The caramel flavor (perhaps ’dulce de leche’) left a bad aftertaste in my mouth, like drinking diluted molasses. It’s like a half-assed version of Newcastle Brown Ale.
