Tikka Gold a quality premium beer brewed with patience using malt, rice, hops, yeast and spring water. A Pilsner style with Indian character having a good balance of dryness and bouquet of hops and a soft malt character to complement spicy foods.

This pale lager pours a light yellow gold color from a 500ml bottle. Large to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is grassy and grainy and a touch citrusy. Damn this sure looks like a fizzy yellow beer from Belgium. Medium bodied Pale Lager. Malts are grassy, lots of corn as well. Hops are slightly spicy. Nice soft mouthfeel and carbonation. Light and refreshing lager. You can also add any other Pale Lager reference here. Despite that, its not bad for a pale lager. It’s a touch thin and perhaps a little vegetative as it warms. Mouthfeel is clean and smooth. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottlred. HAzy light yellow in colour, minor white head. The aroma is bitter with malty hints. The flavour is bitter with a malty aftertaste, quite watery.

Pours an almost crstal clear straw with a small white head. Weak aroma of wet hay, metal, corn, and some floral hops. Slight hoppy earthy grassiness followed by a little bit of corn and bready sweetness. I think this falls under pilsener, though a weak one at that. Could be a pretty decent summer refresher-type beer. Won’t be getting ever again, mainly because there are a billion beers just like this one.

Pours urine yellow with a splotchy, ugly head. The aroma was lemongrassy and hopcity, with pale malts present also. The flavor wasn’t bad, with a crisp hopc and citric presence coupled with a honey malt sensation. I’d drink this as a lawnmower beer.

I’m worried and I haven’t even poured. The bottle appears to be a Belgian lager masquerading as an Indian lager. This does not portend of good things. Medium gold, nice head, utterly clear. Aroma of grain and hay. Flavor is of rough grains, a touch of honey sweetness, and a load of grassy hops. And something that isn’t quite right. Maybe it was the Indian flair they were going for. They should have stuck with all malts, and they could have had a much better beer. Having said that, in the vast world of crappy pale lagers, this really is on the high end of the scale.

Medium gold body with a white head. The aroma is corn, fresh carrots and some light soap. The taste has some sharp spicy celery with some black pepper. This is very strong with the spice. I am not sure if it supposed to be that strong. There is definitely hops inhere, but it comes across more like grass and popcorn than good hops. This left a lot of lacing on the glass. It needs just a little more malt to balance it out.

I like this beer. Very crisp. I suggest that anyone who enjoys a nice Pilsner to check this beer out. I agree with the posters who said that this is a beer that will go best with a nicely spicy meal - Indian food obviously springs too mind. On its own I can see the beer generating mixed feelings. Buy a bottle and try it out before committing more money.

Bottle: Light straw in color, very pale and clear in fact, thin white head, light carbonation.   Straw and grass on the nose, slight malt flavor but mainly grassy on the tongue.   Semi-sweet, not half bad for a Pale Lager.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Fairly clean finish, simple, remains mainly grassy.   Not too shabby.   Thanks mattbob for sharing!

500ml - (Secret Santa cousin Rich) Aroma is skunky and bland. Pours clear yellow with small head and some lacing. Flavor is bland, boring, skunky, and thin, but non-offensive. Palate is watery and non-existent. This is why I don’t drink pale lagers.
