Tikka Gold a quality premium beer brewed with patience using malt, rice, hops, yeast and spring water. A Pilsner style with Indian character having a good balance of dryness and bouquet of hops and a soft malt character to complement spicy foods.

Bottle - I love the thought behind this. An Indian beer brewed in Belgium. Had this at an Indian restaurant. This is right up there with Taj Majal, Singha, etc, etc with slightly more sweet malt character and a pleasant finish.

Originally reviewed Jan. 29, 2007: poured with very little head. aroma is coffee like. colour is hazy yellow. looks like pee. taste has hints of citrus in it, but again, has attributes of coffee in it. little after taste. assaults tongue first couple sips. after that not a bad beer really. quite drinkable.

Well, I got this beer because the guy at the store recommended it. I think he was just trying to get rid of it. I looked at it and saw that it was Belgian, so I figured it couldnít be too bad, which it isnt, but it isnít that good either, especially for a Belgian beer. Has a lot of pale lager characteristics, including being pale yellow and fizzy, light bodied, and with minimal malt and hop flavors. It does leave a bit of lace in the glass, which is a bit redeeming. As for flavor, it has a bit of a soft palate biscuit bread thing going on. Hops are faint and spicy. Not bad I guess, but.........alright, Iíve wasted enough words on this mediocre beer.

Bottlred. HAzy light yellow in colour, minor white head. The aroma is bitter with malty hints. The flavour is bitter with a malty aftertaste, quite watery.

A pale lager brewed in Belgium with an Indian inspired name. Sounds like a recipe for success. The aroma is dominated by the rice, quite sharp, with a touch of hay. Some metallic bitterness that seems typical of pale lager, at least the ones that make some attempt at having flavour. A bti overcarbonated, but again thatís typical of the style. Long lasting finish, but thatís not good as itís all metallic. Itís probably best to keep chugging this down while your palate is still saturated, because then you donít notice the sharpness as much!

Purchased at StateLine liquors in Maryland. I really don’t have a lot to say about this beer except that it is predominantly average at best. The aroma reminded me of straw or a cornfield. In an attempt to generate a powerful head I tried to pour with this intention, yet there was a minimal head that disappated in seconds. No lacing was visible. The color was a cloudy gold hue with no clarity. The taste was similar to a japanese or indian beer with a slight tart sweetness. It was not a bad beer, but I was hoping for a good beer, which is wasn’t either. I could see this beer being a nice acqaintance with a spicy asian or indian dish.

Halve liter fles in Punjab restaurant Londen. Pilskleur, aardige kraag. Weinig geur, smaak en nasmaak. Goed genoeg om het etem mee weg te spoelen, maar op zichzelf staande onvoldoende.

Bottle: What can one say?? As if the market for lame, golden lagers wasnít cornered hereís another. Thereís nothing new; clear pale gold with a big flffy white head. Slightly spicy metalic corn aroma, but maybe Iím just imagining things because there really isnít much in this department. Predictably the flavour is similar - weak, decocted malt flavours with a touch of spice in the background. Yawn... Thankfully the Indian food I had ordered arrived not long after I started this. The Aloo Chop was particularly excellent. mmm :-)

The aroma was spicy Saaz hops when first poured. As the beer warmed the aroma became lightly tart with some corn (DMS) and lasting low spicy hops and an earthy presence. The beer poured hazy pale golden with nearly no head at all. The flavor was lightly tart with some caramel and a bit of spicy hops. The flavor was somewhat earthy and had a light corn presence. The body was medium and the carbonation was fairly low. Nothing outstanding about this one, just a boring beer. 500 ml bottle.
