moseslikesbeer (183), conestoga, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 10, 2008 bottle. little to no head. fruity smell and also a caramel or malt smell. this beer is very sweet. great after taste. it has a great redish brown color. may be a tad too sweet to drink more than one at one time. a very good beer if want something a tad out of the norm. llbjr77 (72), Largo, Florida, USA Dec 26, 2007 Updated: Jan 9, 2008Aroma is pleasant-caramel and fruity. Taste is similar and very good. Aftertaste is nice as well. Drinks easy and is one of the best brown ales. I have been drinking this for 6 months and have not been disappointed. Could not get for 8-10 weeks and was disappointed in many of the other brown ales I tried during this time. dkachur (2318), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Dec 23, 2007 Bottle. Smells like a doppelbock, with banana and such. Taste is also similar to a doppelbock, but lighter and creamier. Banana, caramel, yeast, etc. This is pleasant. Adenila (931), Denmark Dec 19, 2007 Clear deep red with a fine head. Aroma of sweet caramel, same thing going on in the flavor along with minor notes of roasted chocolate. Good for the style BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Nov 25, 2007 Poured from a bottle. Poured a deep ruby color with a moderate beige head. Aroma is hard to describe. Flavor is very interesting, and nice. Slight roasted malts with undertones of fruits, especially apple, and some caramel and toffee. Smooth and easy to drink. A nice surprise. Português: Boa cerveja marrom com uma espuma bege clara e fina, aroma um pouco adociacdo e maltado, sabor leve com notas de malte torrado e caramelo, retrogosto suave. boa!<P> DuffMan (2721), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Nov 19, 2007 Crazy pic on the label! Pours a bronzy brown with a sweet cocoa and toffee aroma, also clay. Smooth mouthfeel, sweet caramel with a hint of jammy fruitiness. Interesting, tasty, but definitely on the sweet side. cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA Nov 19, 2007 I’m not 100% sure, but I keep staring at the label on the bottle and I think this is what’s depicted: A baby bird’s head with a human body, on top of the head is a cast iron kettle acting as a hat. A naked body is coming out of it’s mouth, which has black birds flying out of it’s ass.....WHY? The beer has a uniquely pleasant aroma of earthy roasted malt with a milky cream scent. Dark amber pour, thick diminishing head and good lacing. Light to medium bodied, drinks very smooth and silky. Sweet pleasant finish. Creamy dark malt with lightly burnt and nutty bread. Mildly bittering, tasty bottle.
