ogglethorp (882), Ohio, USA Sep 9, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear brown color with a decent sized soapy off white head. Aroma is caramel, dough, brown sugar. Flavor is caramel, brown sugar, dough. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, finishes sweet and "bock" like. I enjoyed this brew, reminds be of a bock. ilovedarkbeer (1326), Dallas, Texas, USA Sep 3, 2007 Pours a nice amber brown color with a white foamy head. Smells of sugar and malt. Not much in the taste department. Had to try it again because I did not get much. Tastes of water, dark fruits, brown sugar, and caramel. Flavor is not bold enough for my liking. zebracakes (1214), Washington DC, USA Sep 2, 2007 Bottle in the basement of the Brickskeller in DC. Pours dark ruby brown, off white head. obguthr (986), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Aug 31, 2007 Aroma is a very nice blend of walnuts, bark, and caramel. Traces of chocolate are also found. Brown color, clear, with a thick viscous head. Nutty taste, only slightly sweet. Weak but nice berry finish. I’m quickly becoming a big fan of EBAs. VVilliam (50), USA Aug 28, 2007 Bottled. Pours a really nice brown with red tints. Smells of malt and nutty caramel, but pretty lightly. Absolutely delicious malt to chocolate and caramel with almost a hint of berry. Goes down smooth with a perfect bite. Will definitely buy again, if only to get a second chance to figure out the image on the label. Rotorhead87 (117), Temple, Texas, USA Aug 17, 2007 A bit sweet, caramel and molasses with some malt. Interesting beer, but not great. tronraner (1905), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Aug 15, 2007 Bottle. Pours mahogany with big beige head. The aroma isn’t very assertive, but contains caramel, molasses, and straw. The flavor is rich, sweet caramel, with some light spiciness and straw. Mainly sweetness, though. A pretty straightforward sweet brown.
