rsmeds (220), Turku, Finland Apr 23, 2007 Bottle, cute glass.
Clear, red-brown colour. Thick, off-white head.
Sweet caramel malt aroma.
Sweet, bur rather bland caramelly malt flavor.
Lightish body, slightly oily mouthfeel, moderate carbonation.
Decent, well-balanced brown ale, but frankly quite boring. Can’t really see what all the fuzz is about. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 19, 2007 Pours a reddish brown color with a off white head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel and some dried fruits. Flavor is similar to aroma. A bit thin but not bad overall Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 19, 2007 (Bottle 33 cl) Clear, orangey brown with a beige head. Floral, almost perfumy aroma. Medium body with fairly sweet caramel flavours, roasted malt and then again these floral accents. Very subdued bitterness. A very drinkable Brown Ale, but a tad on the sweet side. 180407 vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Apr 18, 2007 Thanks to Sneagrams3 for recommending this brown ale to me. Pours clear dark brown / bronze with a sudsy tan head that turns splotchy with it dissipates. The aroma has sweet toasty malt that is a bit watery and has some tinniness. Medium smooth body with some sharp tingly carbonation. The flavor starts with sweet roasted malt with brown sugar, raisins and some vanilla. The finish is a bit thinner and not as sweet with a bit of spice. As it warms there is more smoothness, brown sugar and some maple syrup sweetness comes out. Overall a thumbs up for this tasty brown ale. While it may not be my favorite style, this is a fine beer. Braincage1 (137), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Apr 15, 2007 Bottle. Poured a raspberry caramel color with a medium sized tan head. A sweet malty aroma is most noticeable. The flavor is predominantly sweet molasses but there is something just kinda strange about the flavor that hits you half way through the swallow. Mild carbonation and a sweet finish. A decent intriguing beer. TheDog (350), Aarhus, Denmark Apr 10, 2007 Bottle. Amber colour with nice small head. Aroma and taste of caramel, roasted malt. Very nice and long finish also with sweet caramel and bread taste. Arayaga2 (934), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 10, 2007 Coca-cola brown with a quickly fading tan head. Aroma is malty with a bit of grass and caramel. Taste is sweeter and more pleasant than I anticipated. $2/11.27oz radagast83 (1273), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Apr 5, 2007 Bottle. Caramel aroma. Sweet, and almost more sweet than I would have prefered as I expected it to be a bit more roasty than sweet.
