The head was two-fingers tall and slightly pillowy. A few rings of lacing. The aroma was sweet malt with a bit of raisin and apricot. The flavor was mostly sweet malt and just a bit of dried fruits. No hop backside to balance out the flavors. Relatively thin mouthfeel. Cool bottle though. mgumby10 (1850), Jupiter, Florida, USA

Nothing extrememly interesting, but pretty pleasant. Taste has alot of dark fruit. This definitely one of the more sweeter browns that Ive had. No traces of any nuts, or dark malts really. A little molasses, and sweet sugar in the finish. Not bad but not great. pubbe (493), Højbjerg, Denmark

Aroma offers malt, dried fruits and some green hoppy note. Slightly sweet malt and caramel in the flavor. Average sweet malty finish. Nice brown ale from the country below sealevel. Smooth, crisp, survived the journey from the Netherlands with no skunkiness. I was told Tilburgs Brown Ale is "new" to the Philadelphia area and one of the local distributors is pushing the product. The creamy light head has good lacing and a significant amount of light small bubbles.Could use to be a little more full-bodied with a higher alcoholic percentage. thefederalist (226), Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Pours nut brown with an ephemeral head. Aroma is sweet and nutty, nice. Flavor strikes me as both too sweet and too sour as they both overpower any malt character it might have. I think this is an attempt at a traditional "flanders brown" also called "sour brown" but it pales in comparison to the better examples of the style. Interesting lable. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Pours a clear copper brown, topped by a good inch of creamy tan foam. Pretty good head retention and lacing. Sweetish malt, somewhat maple-like, in the aroma.
Very sweet beer, quite fruity. A chocolate malt that reminds me of a cheap waxy chocolate bar. A hint of roasted malt for some balance. Unfortunately not enough balance. Medium body, light carbonation. Too sweet for me decaturstevo (1980), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 11, 2007 An aroma of slightly sweet toasted malt. An amber/brown pour with a slight tan head and light lacing. A flavor that smells alot like it smells except maybe sweeter. A taste kind of like burnt brown sugar smells. A tad on the thin side just lacking some richness in the body. A slight bitter in the finish that helps this be a pretty good beer.
