A fairly good brown ale for a damn good price (5 something for the 6-pack). To be honest, the label grabbed my attention. I like brown ales, but the label was what had me reaching for its handle without thinking twice. There is an array of other brown ales to try out instead of/ before this one, but it was good none-the-less.

11.2 oz bottle, nice aroma, pours with a thick, long lasting head. Flavor is malty with very little hops presence. Goes down easy, drinking several wouldn’t be hard. It could use a bit more hops kick and complexity, but it’s a solid choice.

I must agree that this is a rather simple beer but it did exceed my expectations a bit. I had drank some Bell’s Best Brown in the same evening so it was up against some stiff competition. Not as hearty as some of the browns I have had, but it was a nice change. Very refreshing.

12 oz bottle via trade with beerandblues2 - Thanks Brad! - Pours brown with a creamy offwhite head that stays around for a bit and laces a little. Aroma is honey, brown sugar, a bit of yeast. Flavor is sweet, caramel malts, honey, brown sugar. Palate is somewhat watery and light. Decent for a session but it seemed rather mediocre to me.

Simple good beer. Has a very slight sweet or honey taste, nice amount of bubbles, just right. I really enjoyed this, it went down easy and I really savored each sip. They carry it at underground bluz here in orlando, fl.

Dark ruby amber with a small soft sandy brwon cap of firm froth. Keeps a great skim always present as well as a firm collaring. Lacing is cobwebby and thickly. Aroma is tangy with maple syrup, toffee, some cherry and other semi dark fruity hints. Kinda dry with a light breadish play and a feathering of cocoa. Taste is quite mild and semi sweet with a light malty sweetness rendering a bit of fruityness thats kinda raisiny and dark cherryish. Little parts of toffee and maple sit underneath as does some cocoa and bready, feathery dryness. Feel is quick and fairly light with a heavier then neaded carbonation. It smoothes out as it warms helping add both to the flavor and smell as well as helping round out its finish. Slight metallic hints hide under the semi sweet tang. A sessionable brown that could easily make for many pint fulls. Not extraordinary but worth trying.

As browns go it’s rather simple and sweet, with caramelly notes, some creaminess, and a sticky finish. Part of wunderbier’s pimping of Dutch beers, a nice little number, tasty but unchallenging.

Caramel newcastle like dutch beer. A light brownish caramel color. Light caramel taste with a touch of malt and carbonation. Best beer I can find in the middle of Hunstville AL. Great Spirits in Huntsville.
