IrishRed1983 (33), USA Sep 6, 2005 Just a hint of aroma hit my nose. It pours nice with a good head and a nice brown color. The beer is very thin and lacks complexity. The aftertaste was pleasing though. Holdwine (905), Beertimore, Maryland, USA Aug 18, 2005 I liked the way this brown ale started. Average looking in the glass, frothy tan head. Fruits perked up to the nose. Nice fruity/malty mix on the tongue. Then something went wrong leaving a nasty aftertaste that I am still trying to figure out. Some metallic, some off fruit, some unknown. Disappointing finsh to an otherwise nice start. Dalle (1146), Skørping, Denmark Aug 16, 2005 Bottle. A brown ale in the sweet end of the spectrum, raisins and low bitterness. The worst ive had from koningshoeven. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA Aug 15, 2005 Tasty little brown ale. Pours a rich brown with a thick, creamy beige head. Aroma is malty and faintly nutty. Taste is malty with a touch of roasted nuttiness and a slight metallic note. Nice lacing and a nice, slightly dry and fruity finish. Not bad, overall. turbothy (717), Bonn, Germany Aug 10, 2005 Pours dark chestnut with small head. Aroma is apricot and malt. Flavour is funnily synthetic cardboard/glue-ish with the same apricot ending. Not bad, though it may sound like it. Schioth (40), Copenhagen, Denmark Jul 27, 2005 Draught at Alumen Bar, Copenhagen.
Good smooth aroma. Beautiful red-brown appearance with full, rich off-white head. Flavor i caramel-like with a touch of malt. Great mouthfeel.
Overall a fantastic brown ale. Ungstrup (14757), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 26, 2005 A red beer with a disappearing beige head. The aroma is sweet and sour, with some roasted notes. The flavor is sweet roasted with notes of berries and a dry end, but it also has some sourness. There is something good, but also something bad about this beer - so the rating winds up in the middle. TBone (6677), Pori, Finland Jul 25, 2005 Draught, alc 5.2%
Dark brown, very creamy brown head. Lemony, a bit sour nose, some burnt sugars. Sugary, a bit roasted flavor, some sourness underlying there.
