May 23, 2005 Deep reddish colour with a light brown head. Malty light fruity aroma with caramel notes. Malty and sweet flavor with a light spicy touch and a dry finish.

May 12, 2005 Medium dark brown color with a big retained off white colored head. Aroma is malty and yeasty. Flavor is really nice with some malt upfront, yeast, and a wonderful dark fruit, prune/raisin finish. An enjoyable beer and a fantastic brown. I am hard pressed to think of a better brown.

Apr 29, 2005 Had this from a bottle, had never seen it before. No idea on the date of brewing/packaging.
Lots of head at first pour, wasn’t used to that in a brown ale. No nose. Mouthfeel OK, molassas-sweet.
And what’s up with that logo - what is that thing??

Apr 29, 2005 Brown in colour with some hints of red. Mild carbonation. Very sweet malty aroma with only the slightest hint of grassy hops. Sticky sweet malty flavors, along with vague notes of chocolate, roasted nuts, and spices. Good flavor concentration at the beginning, but fades into a somewhat watery finish. A little unbalanced in my opinion, although this really isn’t a style that I’m into.

Apr 19, 2005 Bottled. What’s this? Brewed by Koningshoeven? I don’t believe it. Probably just the name is mentioned by Bavaria on this label so it would sell better. Aroma of vegetable and caramel. Brown color, light brown head, good lace. Sweet, bitter, butterscotch and something nasty that I can’t identify, medium body.

Apr 15, 2005 Interesting label on the bottle. Pours a nice brown with a reddish hue. Large off-white head and nice lacing. I get a hint of banana bread in the nose, but not much else. Taste is rather spiced, but this is an extremely refreshing beer. A little thin in the mouthfeel. Overall, a nice brew.
