Aroma is pitfruit, malt and nuts, amber, small toffee head. Flavour is again, pitfruit(red) with plums being most prominent, rich malt, toffee, nutty. Medium bodied, very well balanced, bitter and dry. Great treat! thornecb (1737), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA May 18, 2009 Pours deep brown into a shaker. Offwhite head quickly recedes to hug rim. Mild chocolate malt aromas. Full and sweet with upfront nuts and caramel turning to lasting bread finish. JK54B (913), Helsinki, Finland May 5, 2009 A bottle taste dat Kaisla. Elkas (86), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Apr 28, 2009 Updated: Jul 13, 2009On tap at The Golden Kiwi, Cambridge. Deep amber colour with a short lasting head. Aroma reminds me of a hefewisen; like they are using Weihenstephaner yeast. It had decent body, but an almost sickly sweet finish. pootzboy (1037), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada Apr 27, 2009 Updated: May 5, 2009Pint from tap:
Filtered, clear Amber-copper color with a ample Beige cap.
Sweet and sour tones, roasty, floral hops in the aroma with a nice underlying earthy-mustiness.
Sweetish caramel malts in the front, some roastyness, light complexity: spice, figs, cocoa, succulent fruit peels. Finishes up dry with some tartness and a light honey aftertaste. A tad on the thin side but flavorful.
Nice drink,
