ODB1518 (6), Minnesota, USA does not count Mar 30, 2009 Nice light brown color and a caramel nutty flavor. Smooth and not overwhelming on the palate. A good stand by brown ale that is decently priced and available. Recommended as an upgrade over Newcastle Brown Ale. Sregnar35 (729), Rotterdam, New York, USA Mar 29, 2009 On tap at Mahars. Pours brown with no head. Flavor is nutty but very watery, nothing stands out. Not a great taste. hogan873 (317), Joliet, Illinois, USA Mar 26, 2009 Clear brown body with a thin tan head. Sweet aroma consisting of caramel and dark fruit. Smooth, oily palate with moderate carbonation. Sweet flavor as well. Caramel, nuts, apple, and a hint of chocolate. Just a touch of hops at the end. A very tasty brown ale. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Mar 23, 2009 pours dark amber, thin beige head.
Aroma is malty and of dark fruits.
Taste, malty, candi sugar, dark fruits, thick mouthfeel and grainy with a finish that has some lingering dry plum/ cherry skin. Some spices. Def. has an interesting twist on the palate that I can’t pinpoint.
