I'm not sure what they were going for with this one. I would drink it again but I would not seek it out. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Pours a clear copper brown, topped by a good inch of creamy tan foam. Pretty good head retention and lacing. Sweetish malt, somewhat maple-like, in the aroma.
Very sweet beer, quite fruity. A chocolate malt that reminds me of a cheap waxy chocolate bar. A hint of roasted malt for some balance. Unfortunately not enough balance. Medium body, light carbonation. Too sweet for me CanIHave4Beers (935), Des Moines, Iowa, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Pours a red color with a small head. The aroma is molasses with an oddball slinkiness and some fruity notes. The flavor is earthy and sweet with some cherry and molasses. I can see why someone might like this; I can even see why I might like it. But I kind of don’t. troopie (916), USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 20, 2009 Bottle. Poured dark red brown with thin fast dissipating white head. Little lacing. Aroma is fruit, caramel and roast. Flavour is malty caramel with a little candy sugar, but very little. Light grassy finish. Holdwine (912), Beertimore, Maryland, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 18, 2005 I liked the way this brown ale started. Average looking in the glass, frothy tan head. Fruits perked up to the nose. Nice fruity/malty mix on the tongue. Then something went wrong leaving a nasty aftertaste that I am still trying to figure out. Some metallic, some off fruit, some unknown. Disappointing finsh to an otherwise nice start. Trev (897), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA

Pours brown with a thin head.
Roasted nutty malt aroma. Some earthy tones and some dark fruitiness, almost cherry-plum like.
Nice sweet cola like flavour, but not overbearing. The body is a bit light but acceptable.. Very drinkable sweet flavour and a light fruity finish.
I actually really enjoyed this one. Jine (896), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 15, 2004 Reddish brown. I don’t ever rate based on label, but props to the Hieronymous Bosch painting birdman eating a guy excerpt. Definitely what made me grab this off the shelf. A pretty decent brown ale. If you are like me and your first experience with a brown was Newcastle, you will like this. ogglethorp (891), Ohio, USA

Aroma is caramel, dough, brown sugar. Flavor is caramel, brown sugar, dough. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, finishes sweet and "bock" like. I enjoyed this brew, reminds be of a bock.
