COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the typical Tilquin blend used for making Oude Gueuze Tilquin à l’ancienne, which means a blend of 1, 2 and 3 years old lambics from Boon, Lindemans, Girardin and Cantillon, but which was intentionally not refermented. Therefore, it is flat. Once aged in bottle, this blend would give an Oude Gueuze Tilquin à l’ancienne. To avoid any refermentation and carbonation, this blend is kept in the fridge. It is served on cask only on festivals and opendoors as a traditional flat lambic, and sometimes sold to local bars.

On cask at Moerder Lambic, Pours a deep hazy amber color with a bream colored head. The smell is fruit, apricot, citrus, some tart sweetness, wheat and yeast. The taste is citrus, grapefruit, oak, yeast. A balanced crisp end with sour and dryness. Light in body with mild & soft carbonation. Nice...

Tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Hazy dark golden with a few big bubbles and a very thin ring of minuscule bubbles. Lactic, hay, quite some funk, a bit rubbery, wood, twigs, some dusty herbs, light sweet malts. Light sour and under medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with no carbonation. Pretty good but there’s some light rubbery notes that I don’t like much.

Cask @ moeder lambic. Pours hazy orange with a white head. Aroma of huge barnyard, light Apples, lactic acidic, gooseberry, quite fruity in a way. Taste is rather latic, light sweet, not sour, but with a touch rotten eggs. Decent

UPDATED: APR 24, 2016 Rating #2000. Hand pump. Hazy orange color with no head. Aroma is funk, horseblanket, wood, some residual sugars. Taste is candied residual sugars, wood, lemony funk, some more sweetish fruits (pineapples and exotic things, probably due to the residual sugar making the fruitiness sweeter), and quite some bitterness towards the end. Flat. Good!

Had this beer 2014 at Moeder Lambic in Brussels. The beer is really something special. With the flat texture and the full flavor of a gueuze this was a beer i tasted a few times (in between the cantillon casks). Viscosity is not something i would say was heavy but i still would say that the beer had a mouth coating fell to it. flavor wise it was mostly wood and different citrus zest aromas.
