markextrae (1619) - NETHERLANDS - APR 28, 2015
Sample at ZBF 15. The failed geuze. Poured a dark yellow to more golden colour with a small white ring on top. Hay, oak, soap, green sour apples, lime, lemon Peel, malt, barnyard, tart notes in the back. Some dusty weird aftertaste. But ofcourse you can’t expect this would be better as their regular geuze

Hamirubi (185) - Waarschoot, BELGIUM - APR 27, 2015
10cl sample at the Zythos Beer Festival (Leuven, April 25th 2015). Orange gueuze with fading foam. A full sour gueuze taste with citrus hints, and a dirty sour finish which make this blend somehow out of tone.

fkoolen (485) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - APR 26, 2015
10cl draught sample at Zythos Bierfestival, Leuven. Hazy golden colour, white foamy head. Strong sourness, quote musty funky too and lightly malted. Low/no carbonation, medium body. Very unfriendly people btw, unpleasantly declining to tell something about their beautiful beers.

Light amber with medium white head. Mild sour aroma. Mails sour taste with certain sweet notes, quite refreshing. Some kind of "raw gueuze".

Strong sour aroma. Sour taste. Feel much like wine. Rather strong aftertaste. Almost non-carbonated.

Alengrin (2928) - BELGIUM - OCT 20, 2014
A so-called ’luierik’, basically a failed geuze, that is to say: a blend of lambics which has not refermented as intended and has therefore not fully evolved to a real geuze (other examples are 3 Fonteinen Doesjel and Cantillon Loerik). Has a creamy, off-white, stable head and misty orange blonde colour. Complex aroma, young lambic, lemon juice, wheat, sweat, sherry, wet hay, horseblanket, lots of estery fruitiness. Equally estery taste, complex, tart, with the expected low carbonation (and not the champenoise fizz of a fully evolved geuze), woody, funky and complex dry sour finish. Very drinkable and more or less the same in taste as their actual geuze.

Somewhat opaque orange with small fluffy white foam head. Aroma is sour, so is taste. These gueuze’s are nice ones you get used to them. (Brussels 201405)

On tap, 25cL. @Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas. A clear orange beer with brown hues. Large white head. Some big bubbles on the foam. Medium persistence. Aroma of smoke, vinegar. Heavy sour, light bitter, very light sweet note. Light body, watery texture. Soft carbonation. Lasting sour finish. Not so dry than gueuze’s Tilquin. Difference can also be explained by the fact that the temperature was a bit higher, I think. Overall, a nice blend Lambic. Recommended. I drank this one with a vegetarian quiche !
