Briney, farmhouse nose, not strong. Hazy golden, effervescent, thin head. Lime flavor, sour and tangy, but simple. Fizzy blood texture. Surprisingly good.

6/I/2012 33cl bottle @ home - BB: 35/5/13 (2012-14)

Clear orange beer, nice white head, unstable, adhesive with nice lacing. Aroma: rotten fruits, wet leafs, bit sweet. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lemony sour start, green apples, turning to sweet, apple sauce, Appletise (or Kidibul), sweet sugary. Aftertaste: green apples, bitter ending, apricots. And then we read the bottle. Apple juice 5%, wtf? Since when does geuze contain apple juice???

Bottle: Medium thicker sparkling white head which seems to disappear pretty quick, on top of a clear darker yellow to lightly orange colored beer. Smell sweet grains, hay, sugars, yeast, something light farmish. Taste is sweet (from the sugars it seems), with a strange light sourness. Also taste honey, sweeter malts, corn, grains, light yeast/wood, fruits. Reminds me more of a Faro than a Gueuze. Grainy light sour sweet aftertaste. Medium carbo, spicy moutheel, a good medium body and a texture between watery and creamy. Bit strange, bit out of balance, just a bit and just a bit different... Not bad, but there are way better.

This example I had was slghtly cloudy. It had a low level acidic nose and tasted quite dry, astringent and well lemony. An interesting style...

33 cl. bottle sampled @ Kulminator: A: clear golden with a white head S: apples, slightly floral & sweet, slightly tart lemons T: taste follows suit, apple juice mixed with sweet slightly tart lemons, touch floral with a gueuze buried underneath, touch artificial sweetener, slightly sweet barnyard & yeast – it is not exactly sweet but it isn’t sour either really, it is basically a bit like a middling gauze mixed with sweet slightly tart lemons & a splash of apple juice – a pointless compromises really which shuts out most groups which might have been interested – still too sweat four a sourhead – B: medium

33 cl bottle @ home, rated on 31.01.2009.
Aroma has slight sourness and earthy notes. Flavour starts with sourness and earthy notes with some sour apples. It ends up to a sweetish finish with candi sugar. Decent, but I like my gueuzes more sour and less sweet.

Bright, sparkling orange colour, pillowy white head that clings to the glass leaving good lace.A light note of basement upon nosing and then glace orange peel and bread crusts. Immediately tart and stays that way. Rather different character to the Mort Subite Geuze I just had. Puckering, lipsmacking and definite orange juice flavour. Refreshing and piquant.

Recht sauer im Start. Nuancen von Apfelwein lassen sich im Mittelteil erahnen, die auch im Abgang noch präsent sind. Passables Lambic.Test vom 10.12.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche
