My second favourite at WoSF 28/5/2012. And what a surprise! A very nice beer, not that full bodied, but how fresh! what a wonderfull experience! summer in a cask, a festival in my glass

(Box: gebrouwen 2012, Pijp Nr. 273 - Eik.) Sour cherry pit sets the stage for full-on blasts of sour to trump it: lactic acid, yoghurt, red vinegar, with red yoghurt Gummibärchen coming in for a brief late gentler rescue. Among the more palate-rinsing, mouth-puckering of the all-lambiek/geuze night. Enjoyable enough, with some harsh edges threatening to enforce benchmarks in acidity on the taste buds - potentially acid reflux inducing in larger than sample pint quantities.

(draught) pours a very deep ruby colour with no head. aroma of cherries, heavy vanilla, summer pastures, raisins and a hint of earth. flavour is heavy cherry stones and herbal hops, quite sour and dry, with some bread dough and brown sugar in the finish. medium-bodied with very soft carbonation.

Cask @ In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst. Hazy red-burgundy with a small pink foam. Aroma is super acidic with tart cherries, Timmermans usual lemony presence and funk. Taste is heavily sour with tart cherries, lactic acid, herbal notes, funk and wood. Light body. Soft carbonation. Very dry finish. Mouth puckering. This one isn’t for kids. When you mix an already acidic Timmermans lambic with tart cherries, it become somewhat extreme. Quite tasty too. I enjoyed it (in small quantity).

Rödrosa i färgen med stort ljusrosa skum! Massor med körsbär och mandelmassa i doft och smak!

Red colour, no head. Aroma of red fruits, lactic acid, cherry yoghurt, red fruits. Cherry flavour, mildly sour yoghurt, red fruits. Finish red fruits, quite refreshing.
Very similar to the Mort Subite kriekenlambik. That one was a bit fuller in body (molliger), but they were eerily alike.
(Draught @ 22nd WoSF, Opstal 2013. Thanks for sharing, Uli! Part of Uli’s blind tasting of fruit lambics. 8 out of 10, not bad my friend, not bad at all!)

25cl bottle. Sweet and tart aromas. Pours red, clear, with reddish vanishing head, poor lacing. Light body, crispy texture, high carbonation. Taste is too sweet, with subtle tart notes. Sweet aftertaste. Enjoyable anyway.
