My second favourite at WoSF 28/5/2012. And what a surprise! A very nice beer, not that full bodied, but how fresh! what a wonderfull experience! summer in a cask, a festival in my glass

Glass in Kulminator, Antwerp. Aged with 2 years on it. Opaque red to purple with no head. Nose is sweet cherry fruit, lactic acidic, sour, fragrant cherry. Taste is massive hit of lactic sour and very sweet cherry so. Balance is a little too sweet and the lactic is off the scale. Like when Brewers put lactic Avicenna in their beers. Nice but big sour and sweet.

Glass at the Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation. Hazy purple with no head. Aroma of sweet cherries, light tart cherries, red berries and light oak. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and moderate sour. Light medium bodied with flat carbonation.

Tap at WvdSG. A bit hazy very deep red. Straight up sour cherry, almonds, light salted plums, a bit earthy, hay. Under medium sweet, light bitter and salty. Medium bodied. Not bad.

Red, very little foam. Some particles flying around. Aroma is intense, vinegar, salt and more vinegar. Wine vinegar, not apple one. Clean and acidic. Slight funk. Taste is super tart, vinegar covering some tart cherry fruitiness. Body feels smooth and silky and I am also getting some salts.

Drink @La Becasse. Well, nice drink but poor kriek. The aroma as well as the taste are a mix of cherries and vanilla. Great but not great.

(Box: gebrouwen 2012, Pijp Nr. 273 - Eik.) Sour cherry pit sets the stage for full-on blasts of sour to trump it: lactic acid, yoghurt, red vinegar, with red yoghurt Gummibärchen coming in for a brief late gentler rescue. Among the more palate-rinsing, mouth-puckering of the all-lambiek/geuze night. Enjoyable enough, with some harsh edges threatening to enforce benchmarks in acidity on the taste buds - potentially acid reflux inducing in larger than sample pint quantities.

(draught) pours a very deep ruby colour with no head. aroma of cherries, heavy vanilla, summer pastures, raisins and a hint of earth. flavour is heavy cherry stones and herbal hops, quite sour and dry, with some bread dough and brown sugar in the finish. medium-bodied with very soft carbonation.
